Specific Duties And Responsibilities
Launched in 2019, the FLP deploys a six-credit, two-semester Fundamentals of Lawyering (FL) course (3 credits per semester). FL provides first-year law students with a strong foundation in legal writing and analysis, research, citation, and problem-solving in a variety of lawyering contexts. The course curriculum is designed to assist with students' professional identity formation and introduces students to a range of lawyering skills including client interviewing and counseling, fact development, and negotiation. Each FL class will be supported by at least one teaching assistant, an upper-level student who will receive some formal programmatic training and work closely with their professor to assist with a range of tasks. In addition to teaching their courses, FL faculty are expected to serve as advisors in GW's award-winning Inns of Court program and to attend and facilitate Inns of Court Programming. FL faculty are also expected to attend departmental meetings and assist with problem development, creating research exercises, developing and sharing lesson plans and exercises, hiring teaching assistants, and other tasks related to the administration of the FL program. This three-year renewable appointment requires work during the summer months to develop problems and curricular innovations for the upcoming academic year.

Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Primarily based at Seattle Children's Hospital. Division faculty are part of integrated care programs at the Odessa Brown Children's Clinic and pediatric clinics of the University of Washington with expansion to primary care practices affiliated with Children's under way. Services at the hospital include an inpatient psychiatry program, well-staffed consultation service, mental health staffing 24-hours/7 days a week in the emergency department, mental health staff embedded in many pediatric medical subspecialty services, neuropsychology, a large autism center, and a range of clinics devoted to anxiety, depression, and behavior problems.
The Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a multi-disciplinary group of nearly 80 clinicians, researchers, educators, and staff dedicated to excellent, accessible care for children, youth, and families affected by mental health and substance use problems. The Division offers excellent clinical, training, and research programs ranging from population-based prevention and early intervention to highly specialized treatments for youth with chronic mental health and developmental challenges. Division faculty work at Seattle Children's and at other sites throughout the community and the state.
Seattle Children's Hospital
Seattle Children's serves as the primary pediatric hospital for the Puget Sound area, as well as a tertiary and quaternary care referral center for Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho - the largest geographic region served by any children's hospital in the country. UW Medicine has a longstanding affiliation with Seattle Children's and considers it a key partner to advance its mission to improve the health of the public. Seattle Children's is the main training site for many of our child psychiatry and psychology training programs.
Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine
Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at Seattle Children's operates an inpatient unit (41 beds), performs over 58,000 outpatient visits/year to over 9,700 unique patients, including tele-video visits and telephone consultations to pediatricians and other primary care providers throughout the Pacific Northwest. SC also operates a state-funded Partnership Access Line program serving clinicians caring for children in the states of Washington and Wyoming. The SC Autism Center provides 20,000 visits to over 4,200 unique families each year. Outpatient services are offered at three sites: the hospital's Magnuson Clinic (the main outpatient site) and at Children's regional clinics in Everett and Federal Way, Washington. Services at the Federal Way site focus particularly on serving Spanish-speaking families. Work closely with PBSCI leadership and leadership at SC on strategic initiatives to benefit the mental health of children, adolescents, and their families.
Work closely with the PBSCI Department Chair to provide leadership and supervision for faculty, staff, and trainees in the department's Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Work with the Department Chair and HR staff to recruit and credential division faculty.
Provide mentorship to junior division faculty and conduct annual academic performance reviews of division faculty as representative of the Chair.
Supervise and support faculty who provide medical direction and clinical leadership for psychiatric services at SC and other departmental practice sites serving children and adolescents.
Work with the PBSCI Vice Chair for Finance and Administration and Finance Director to oversee clinical performance reviews and monitor clinical benchmarks for clinically active division faculty.
Monitor and support compliance requirements for clinically active division faculty.
Prepare for and chair monthly meetings and Clinical Case Conferences for SC faculty in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Represent division faculty and staff at PBSCI Leadership Council meetings.
Encourage and support academic collaborations for division faculty.
Perform other clinical or academic leadership duties as assigned by the Department Chair.

About the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology:
The successful candidate will be a key team member of the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility clinical practice located in the Women's Health Care Center at the University of Washington and will be focused primarily on clinical care. Our team is currently composed of three physicians, two advanced practice providers, three embryologists (plus an incoming junior embryologist and an off-site lab director), and a team of nurses and medical assistants. We provide comprehensive REI-related services to the Seattle community as well as the Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho (WAMI) region which include treatment of a full spectrum of reproductive endocrinopathies, oncofertility (including ovarian tissue cryopreservation), gamete preservation, same sex procreative management, pre-diagnostic/genetic diagnosis, ART, intrauterine insemination, menopause, and other standard reproductive health care-related services.
The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the intellectual diversity and legacy of teaching, clinical and research excellence of the UWMC through their professional passions. Faculty will teach 4-credit foundational courses, 4-to-8-credit intermediate and advanced level courses in their specialty areas, and 8-credit, team-taught, broadly interdisciplinary classes. Faculty will incorporate material from a variety of psychology subfields such as behavioral health clinical skills, child and adolescent psychology, health psychology, substance abuse treatment, multicultural counseling, integrative health, and abnormal psychology focusing on evidence-based treatments for depression, anxiety, and substance abuse, in additions to theories of psychopathology. During some quarters, the faculty will supervisor community-based mental health internships. Faculty will also have the opportunity to develop future certificates in applied clinical and counseling psychology to meet emergent community needs.

Job Expectations
Curriculum in the school for Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE) is based on stackable certificates and related bachelor's degree curriculum comprised of 4-credit and 8-credit offerings, normally planned at a 25:1 student to faculty ratio, and capstone work including undergraduate research or internships and individual study. Faculty appointed to the school for PaCE will teach a mixture of those types of offerings, with a planned full-time workload equivalent to 25 full-time (16-credit) student FTE (for example: two 8-credit classes with 25 students each or other such combinations). Courses and programs are offered online, in-person, or in low residency hybrid formats with both remote and in-person elements. Most synchronous instruction would be taught in the evenings or weekends, with some flexibility to offer instruction in the day if there is demonstrated demand or if teaching during daylight hours is an important part of the pedagogy (such as for field work). In the first year of the contract, faculty will have the opportunity for partial release from teaching to help with the design and development of new certificates and curriculum in the school for Professional and Continuing education. Faculty will be provided with opportunities to increase their skill in online curriculum development.
Evergreen uses narrative evaluations in lieu of grades and faculty are responsible for evaluating 25 students/quarter in each class. Faculty are also responsible for advising students as they reflect on their learning process, develop a pathway of study, and formulate their own areas of concentration.
