The purpose of the Project Manager position is to plan and coordinate projects to meet the overall goals of the project and serve as the main contact with the contractor or owner. * Review shop drawings, contract drawings, specifications, and applicable standards to determine appropriate installation methods. * Generate proposals for change orders, and as assigned. * Determine labor requirements and preparing schedules, track changes. * Order and track material, equipment, tools, and other necessary items based on design and/or contract needs. * Review time for assigned projects and/or contracts to ensure alignment with project budget. * Monitor overall progress of the project and preparing job records * Generate proposals for change orders, RFI's, ASI's and MCR's; communicate approved items into organizational system(s) and/or to designated representative for processing. * Ensure employees follow all relevant safety standards and procedures, work environment in accordance with the SFP standards. * Meet with AHJ's, contractors, owners, architects, and other design professionals on project progress. * Perform a formal project review with the Fire Alarm Manager weekly, or as requested. * Assist support staff and facilitate closeout documents to include O&Ms and review as-built drawings for accuracy. * Other duties may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: The qualifications listed below are representative of the elements required to perform the job successfully, however in some cases, an equivalent combination of Education, Training, Certifications and Experience may meet the job qualifications. Education, Training, Certifications: * High School diploma, technical or related experience and/or training, required. * NICET III ITM Water based systems and/or NICET Level IV Fire Alarm, preferred. Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements: * 5 years' industry experience, required. * Successful experience in leading multiple projects, achieving goaled outcomes including profitability while communicating with onsite customers, preferred. * Mechanical aptitude, preferred. * Basic and advanced math skills, required. Communication Skills: * Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers. Systems and Software Skills: * Ability to operate a computer, use Microsoft Office required. Job Description THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON AWARD OF CONTRACT. DCSAM is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Project Manager exclusive to this contract. Qualified applicants must be knowledgeable of highway maintenance, principles and practices and have a minimum of five (5) years in documented experience in highway maintenance or construction. The Project Manager shall have supervisory experience demonstrating excellent leadership, management, planning, administration, finance, budgeting, reporting experience and supervisory authority with similar projects. Job Responsibilities: Primary point of contact for written and verbal communication. Supervise all activities in the Contract. Will be a liaison with the Department's designated authority. Management and financial authority to develop plans, adjust plans, execute orders and directions without delay and supply promptly such materials, equipment, tools, labor, incidentals, and subcontracts as required at all times to comply with the contract. Will be the lead point of contact for the planning, delivery and quality of maintenance work and services, self-policing, and the response and resolution of any and all Contract deficiencies throughout the Contract term. Full management control and be the lead point of contact for securing and complying with all environmental and Regulatory Approvals and their conditions and requirements. Qualifications Qualifications: Must have a valid driver's license with at least 3 years of clean driving experience. High School Diploma or equivalent. Minium of five (5) years of highway maintenance or construction Must be available twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week for immediate contact and response to the Department for all issues and concerns which cannot be resolved by the supervisor. Experience in Guardrail Installation preferred. These highlighted items may be able to be completed after hire: Certificate in Erosion Control for both Installer level and Inspection level, as to satisfy all requirements set forth by the Tennessee Department of Environmental Conservation (TDEC). The Project Manager shall have completed the following courses within one (1) month of assuming this role: Intermediate Work Zone Traffic Control, National Incident Management System (NIMS) 100's, 200's, 300's, 400's, 700, 800's training, TDOT Level 1 Incident Commander Training, and SHRPS II Training. You have: * BS in Civil Engineering or Architecture; * Registered/licensed engineer; * At least 10 years' experience and updated on the latest trends in Project/ Construction Management and Quantity Surveying; * Experience in ISO processes and documentation, preferable; * Good interpersonal communication skills both oral and written; * Ability to relate with all levels of people and to manage time to meet project deadlines. Your duties: * Responsible for the complete and satisfactory execution of the Contract between the Owner and Contractor(s)/Supplier(s); * Attend and preside regular and special project meetings to discuss/monitor/coordinate progress and resolve issues among others, including preparation and distribution of minutes of meetings; * Assist in pre-qualification of bidders and bid documentation, preside pre-bid conferences and procedures, assist in technical bid evaluation and negotiations; * Set-up project tools, requirements, reporting systems, lines of authority and communication; * Responsible in preparation and development of project schedule, milestones and activities, from design through completion, to include reporting of deviations and recommend measures of recovery; * Monitor the progress of the project works as a whole, conduct of inspections both on site and off site (where applicable), including all required testing and commissioning * Oversee Contractors' Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Programs; * Review and evaluation of progress billings and change orders in coordination with the Construction Manager and Quantity Surveyor; * Review defects list and suggest action plans in fixing/amending them, and ensure the submission of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals for the project; * Prepare regular progress reports and final project report for submission to Client; * Responsible for Construction Managers, Site Engineers and Technical Assistants under his/her jurisdiction.
