Responsible for the engineering department's review and processing of all grading permits as required by city ordinance, or as required as conditions of approval for lot divisions, site plan development, planned unit development, building construction and residential home construction. Responsible for field inspection and verification of compliance with permit requirements for all active grading permits, particularly upon release of a project's financial security. Responsible for reviewing and processing permit applications from other governmental agencies, public utilities, private contractors, and other parties proposing to work on public rights-of-way, public easements or other public property. Responsible for communication and coordination of all permit activities occurring throughout the city. Coordinates items relating to traffic engineering, including installation of street identification, traffic control signs, etc. Works closely with the planning and public works departments to provide technical engineering assistance in the review of subdivision plats and other proposed developments.
