SUMMARY :
The Project Manager works closely with all functional teams across the organization to lead projects through the Product Development process. The development process is formalized with discrete stages and deliverables within each stage. The Project Manager estimates work content of deliverables, soliciting inputs from those responsible. They create project timelines using those estimates and then facilitate and drive execution. This position is on-site, in-office based in Camarillo, CA. Up to 10% travel is anticipated.
ESSENTIAL FUNCITONS
Receive inputs from Management to define project Scopes and author Project Charters, aligned with Business Objectives and KPI's.
Follow established Product Development process and framework captured in SOP's and Work Instructions. This includes discrete project phases and deliverables.
Establish and track project budgets, including product costs and project costs. Calculate Return On Investment.
Solicit estimates from cross-functional project team members for work content of required project deliverables. Use to create work breakdown structure and project timelines. Establish critical path.
The Project Manager will be accountable for delivering projects on time and on spec.
Schedule and facilitate or lead project team meetings. Capture and publish meeting notes and update Action Item Logs.
Build rapport with project team members, and with their respective management. Use influence skills to assure team member engagement. Escalate appropriately if project drifts from critical path.
Assure project deliverables are complete and accurate per their respective templates, SOP's and Work Instructions. Use project deliverables tracking systems as required.
Track/monitor the team resourcing levels (People + Costs) & risk/confidence levels on projects while effectively measuring the output from initiative set.
Provide concise project status updates to Management within the business context of scope, quality, timeline, and financials.
Conduct timely escalations to Leadership if at any point there is a risk to scope, quality, timeline, and financials.
Propose and author improvements to product development process documentation, templates, SOP's, Work Instructions. Improve efficiency of project tracking systems and software.
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Formal project management training, such as PMBOK. PMP Certification preferred.
5+ years of demonstrated experience leading cross-functional product development projects from inception to completion. Established track record of successful projects.
Demonstrated track record of managing multiple projects, objectives, deadlines simultaneously.
Detail oriented, organized, and deadline-driven.
Ability to recognize, summarize, articulate trades in terms of quality, scope, time, budget.
Biotechnology/Life Science industry experience.
Experience leading in a product manufacturing environment.
Experience working in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) or laboratory environment.
Builds credibility, positive working relationships, and has the ability to influence stakeholders and team members at all levels to deliver projects effectively.
Clear and articulate communication style, especially when communicating objectives, priorities, and progress.
Effective listening skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as presentation skills in front of management and key customers.
Experience with project management tools and software.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related discipline
