We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Kong Developer to join our team and lead the design, implementation, and optimization of API Gateway solutions using Kong API Gateway. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Kong's ecosystem, API management, and integration with microservices architectures. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain Kong-based API Gateway solutions. Implement API Gateway policies, rate limiting, authentication, logging, monitoring, and security best practices. Configure and customize Kong plugins using Lua, Go, or JavaScript. Integrate Kong with backend services, databases, authentication systems (OAuth, JWT, OpenID Connect), and CI/CD pipelines. Optimize API performance, scalability, and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kong API Gateway and microservices communication. Work closely with DevOps and security teams to ensure compliance with best practices. Document API configurations, policies, and best practices for internal teams. Required Skills & Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in API development and management. 3+ years of hands-on experience with Kong API Gateway (OSS or Enterprise). Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, gRPC, GraphQL, and WebSockets. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Lua, Go, Python, or JavaScript for Kong plugin development. Experience with API security frameworks (OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS). Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Terraform). Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an Agile environment.
