We are currently seeking a self-motivated, results oriented NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR. This position is on-site located in Hilliard (Columbus) Ohio. It is Micro Center's core promise to take care of our associates and customers which has led to our success over the last 40+ years!
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES:
Develop, deploy, and oversee high-performance LAN/WAN/SAN infrastructures, integrating secure wireless networking solutions for both corporate and remote locations.
Follow best practices to ensure network security protocols are implemented and updated as necessary to safeguard company data, systems, and infrastructure from internal and external threats, this includes following PCI standards.
Configure, maintain, and optimize network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points, ensuring high availability, performance and security.
Lead network troubleshooting and incident response efforts to quickly resolve issues and minimize downtime across critical systems.
Serve as a technical lead for infrastructure projects, including new store rollouts, network upgrades, and technology deployments.
Develop and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and policies.
Evaluate emerging networking technologies and tools to provide recommendations to improve network efficiency, security, and scalability.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
5+ years of hands-on experience in network administration or engineering, with a strong track record in enterprise environments.
At least CCNA certification, CCNP preferred
Advanced knowledge of networking protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, BGP, OSPF and VLANs).
Experience with Sonicwall firewalls
Hands-on experience with network monitoring, diagnostics, and management tools
Proven expertise in routing, switching, firewall configuration, and wireless networking.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience with Cisco, Ubiquiti networking products and UniFi Controller software.
Experience with Cisco and Ubiquiti wireless configuration and management
SAN and backup solution design and implementation
Knowledge of PCI security standards
Familiarity with F5 load balancers
Familiarity with retail IT infrastructure and large-scale multi-site network environments.

Position Summary:
Install and support the organization's local & wide area networks both wired and wireless. Monitor and maintain firewalls. Monitor network and security logs and work within the team to correct any issues found. Work within the team to identify and make changes related to network infrastructure and security. Provision Internet access and establish VPNs. Responsible for the performance, maintenance, security, installation, upgrade of LAN/WAN. Maintain physical wiring closets. Maintain current & accurate device inventory. Work within the team to ensure high availability of LAN and WAN. Ability to troubleshoot and correct simple to moderately complex infrastructure issues. Ability to maintain and troubleshoot simple to moderately complex issues related to VOIP. Participates in DR planning, testing, and implementation. Works with other IS team members to ensure that servers & network infrastructure are installed in the data centers according to established standards. May be required to float throughout LMHS and perform other duties as requested.
Responsibilities:
Works Primarily within the Information Systems Department and with vendors.
May Occasionally work with other LMHS department employees, physicians or leadership.
Provides assistance to physicians and external customers.
Able to read, comprehend, and teach complicated and detailed instructions in order to plan and perform position duties.
Able to integrate and interpret data from diverse sources in order to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve Information Systems and communication related problems.
Able to meet deadlines, to plan effectively, pay close attention to details, and follow-up with the customer in a timely fashion.
Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
Requirements:
Must live within 45 minutes for possible urgent networking issues.
Associate's Degree in Computer Science or similar degree, or have acquired equivalent experience (4+ years).
4+ years experience of Information Technology Support.
Proven ability to fix moderate to complex issues related to hardware and software.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and correct basic networking issues.
Certification(s) related to Networking, Security or other Infrastructure preferred.
LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.
