    SHIFT DETAILS: 2nd Shift 1PM -10 PM Pay $18.55 Benefits available Day 1 On the Job Training PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Live Haul Associate assists in the transfer and maintenance of required machinery for poultry movement from grow out location to processing facility. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: • Assist in the transfer, minor repair, and servicing of machines and related equipment utilized in the transfer of poultry before or after loading • Aid in spotting for live haul trucks at farm to ensure safe practices and mitigation of damage • Operate mechanical loading equipment in compliance with safety guidelines to avoid damage to grower's housing and equipment; notify appropriate personnel in event of damage immediately once discovered • Evaluate loading equipment and vehicles while operating and notify appropriate person of mechanical defects or needed repairs • Identify opportunities for improvement, develop improvement, present to appropriate personnel, and lead or participate in the implementation of improvement • Wear personal protective equipment in all areas where required • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS: • High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required • Valid driver's license in good standing EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: • Demonstrated ability to operate mechanical equipment used for loading poultry • Ability to safely operate a forklift • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs • Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to work Non-standard shifts (Holiday, Weekend, extended) as needed per business need • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs utilizing correct lifting techniques • Ability to work in unusual environments including warn and dusty, wet and humid, and noisy environments • Ability to tolerate animal smells and exposure to chemicals within OSHA limits • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, grasp, twist, and kneel We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
