Summary:
The Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) Associate supports manufacturing operations by ensuring processes are robust, efficient, and compliant. This role provides technical expertise, data analysis, and hands-on support for biologics production. The MSAT Associate contributes to process monitoring, deviation investigations, technology transfers, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for providing technical support to commercial manufacturing operations, including troubleshooting and on-the-floor support during production campaigns.
Assist with investigation of process deviations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs).
Monitor process performance through data analysis, trending, and control charting (e.g., Ppk, Cpk).
Establish and maintain project timelines, draft and revise technical documents including SOPs, batch records and technical reports.
Assist with new product introduction efforts to ensure successful tech transfer through collaboration with Supply Chain, Quality and Manufacturing teams.
Support process validation activities, including authoring protocols/reports and analyzing results.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance yield, reduce variability, and improve process robustness.
Requirements:
BS or an MS in life science discipline; bioengineering degree preferred.
Requires a minimum of 3 years of industry experience, particularly within the manufacturing or downstream process areas.
Experience with technical transfer and scale up is highly preferred.
Experience with manufacturing processes such as: filling, filtration, chromatography, etc. is of high importance.
Data analytics experience with JMP or similar program is a plus.
Must be highly engaged analytically and have proficiency in technical tools and transfer methods.
