What You'll Do:

Perform diagnostic tests in accordance with the lab policies and procedures.

Perform a variety of lab tests based on laboratory scope of service.
Document and maintain accurate records on all laboratory equipment and patient specimens and results.
Adheres to all policies and procedures set forth by the facility and imposed by all regulatory organizations.
Maintain a quality, clean work environment in the lab setting.
Ensure your personal appearance is pristine while wearing company ID while onsite.
Responsible for complying with all compliance standards including annual MedTrainer competencies, and annual skill fair competencies.
Remain flexible in staffing patterns and staffing resolutions when conflict arises.

Key Responsibilities:
Follow lab protocols for specimen handling, processing, testing, and reporting results.
Ensure proficiency testing samples are handled like patient specimens.

Review and release test results promptly.
Comply with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety standards.
Document all quality control activities, including calibrations and maintenance.
Follow procedures if test systems are outside established performance levels.
Identify and correct problems that affect test results or notify the senior technologist/supervisor.
Document corrective actions when test systems deviate from performance standards.

Required Knowledge: A solid understanding of basic laboratory testing is required for this position. The successful candidate must possess good computer skills and be able to adapt to working in multiple computer systems. Must know about QC and QA, as well as know all areas of the laboratory.
Qualifications:
BS in Medical Technology, or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology. Alternatively, previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433 (published on March 14, 1990).
Experience:
At least one year of clinical experience in high complexity testing is preferred. A minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience is required for candidates with a BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology.
Additional Information:
The role requires the ability to follow detailed procedures and ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
Attendance at monthly department training and safety sessions is required.

What You'll Do

They are expected to maintain quality and efficiency of laboratory services.Responsible to the Director of Operations, Laboratory Director, doctors, and nurse practitioners, Health Center students and employees, clinically and as directed.Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program.
Current State Board Certification for Medical Laboratory Technician required.
Previous Medical Laboratory Technician work experience required.
Graduate of Phlebotomy school required.
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Phlebotomy training for at least 90 days preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs in-house laboratory testing.
Maintain logbooks and records laboratory test sent out, tracking results.
Performs proficiency testing on laboratory equipment as indicated; maintains log of proficiency testing results.
Establishes controls and standards for in-house laboratory procedures.
Performs venipuncture and finger sticks on students and employees; collects viable specimens from the Health Center patients in an accurate and timely manner.
Adheres to standards set by OSHA, CLIA, and COLA in documenting quality control procedures.
Works with the Health Center regarding test availability and the collection of specimens.
Prepares specimens, records for in-house and outside laboratory procedures, and records lab results.
Performs monthly control procedure on all laboratory equipment in accordance with OSHA and CLIA.
Tracks laboratory results for missing reports and follow-up on missing reports.
Maintains daily statistics for laboratory procedures.
Conduct mandated lab review with designated accrediting agency.
Train on Banner and MediCat software platforms.
