SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Collaborate effectively with department and cohort peers to ensure academic goals are appropriate and instructional strategies are effective to reach identified student outcomes.
Maintain accurate records and information in SIS, following established procedures.
Abide by all requirements in the Teacher Expectation guidelines.
Perform any other duties/projects as assigned by the Principal.

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person's education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee's salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position's level and expected contribution, and the employee's benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
We anticipate the salary range to be $40,000-$45,000. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual's compensation can vary based on several factors. The Physical Education Teacher is a highly qualified, state certified educator responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment. Physical Education Teachers provide instruction, support, and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs. Physical Education Teachers monitor student progress through Stride K12's learning management system. They actively work closely with students and parents/learning coaches to advance each student's learning toward established goals. PE Teachers typically work from home but must travel occasionally throughout the year to various school functions, such as state testing or as otherwise required by the school.
THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION THAT WILL LIKELY PAY $20-$25/HOUR
This is a part-time hourly position up to 25 hours per week. Ability to work independently is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday is imperative. Instructional hours fall between 9-5 EST (or 8-4) based on the needs of the schools we serve. As a Teacher you will:

Physical Education Teacher (Grades K-8)
Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to develop students' physical skills and abilities, strength, agility, poise, coordination, and teamwork; to develop students' understanding of the importance of exercise to physical and mental well-being; and to motivate students to work towards, physical fitness, hygiene, and good health. Essential Functions
Develops and administers Physical Education classes consistent with school district goals and objectives.
Teaches knowledge of, and develops skills and abilities in, physical fitness, rhythm and dance, coordination and agility, exercise, and sports,
Develops students' concepts in leadership, teamwork, responsibility and social skills; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and appropriate feedback to regarding student progress, expectations, and goals.
Conducts ongoing assessment of student growth and progress in physical educational activities, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs.
Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
Assists in coordinating extra-curricular activities, including student performances, assembles, and athletic events.
Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within physical education and grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
Selects and requisitions appropriate instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.
Inspects equipment and field areas used to ensure they are in good and safe working order.

Qualifications Profile
Certification/License:
State Certification as a Physical Education Teacher.
State Certification as a Health Teacher preferred.
Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
Education:
Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
Experience:
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
