The Machine Learning Hardware Accelerator team is seeking an experienced and talented Hardware Design & Architecture Lead. This role will drive the definition and analysis of next‑generation ML hardware accelerator architectures, with a special emphasis on vision applications for mobile and emerging products.
Key Responsibilities
Architect high‑performance, power‑efficient ML hardware accelerator designs, especially for computer vision workloads (e.g., image classification, object detection, video analytics).
Analyze and optimize hardware for performance, power, and area (PPA) tradeoffs.
Define hardware micro‑architecture for efficient implementation of ML algorithms.
Lead HW IP development, working closely with RTL design, verification, synthesis and physical design teams to improve PPA.
Collaborate closely with global hardware, software, and systems teams to deliver best‑in‑class ML solutions.
Work with cross‑functional teams (HW design, verification, SW, systems, marketing, product planning) to align architecture with product goals.
Use models, simulators, profilers, and real hardware to justify architectural decisions quantitatively.
Apply knowledge of CPUs, GPUs, DSPs, memory, and bandwidth analysis to ML hardware design.
Communicate results and technical issues effectively with leads and peers.
Invent and file patents for innovative hardware solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in hardware development for ML, multimedia, or accelerator technologies (vision, imaging, video, display, audio, etc.).
Experience in system or chipset development for SoC products, preferably in the mobile market.
Familiarity with OS principles and HW/SW interaction.
Experience with SoC bus, interconnect, and memory technologies.
MS Degree required with 15+ years industry experience in one or more of the following areas:
Architecture/micro‑architecture of ML or multimedia cores.
Experience with ML frameworks and accelerator standards (e.g., TensorFlow Lite, ONNX).
VLSI design and verification (Verilog/SystemVerilog/HLS).
C/C++/SystemC programming.
Hands‑on experience with simulators and performance/power models.
Scripting & automation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Deep domain knowledge in ML for vision (image/video processing, neural network architectures for vision).
Experience collaborating with global teams across multiple time zones and cultures.
Experience working with synthesis and physical design teams for HW IP development and PPA improvement.
Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated technical and people leadership.

Operate drones in challenging environments, including proximity to energized lines and remote terrain.
Plan missions, conduct pre- and post-flight checks, and maintain logs and flight data records.
Training and Oversight:
Train and supervise additional pilots or UAS technicians.
Implement safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
Work with the Safety department to respond to any incidents, conduct after-action reviews, and implement corrective actions.
Data Management:
Capture high-quality data and ensure its proper processing and delivery to stakeholders.

4+ years of FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (in good standing).

What's the opportunity?
We're hiring a Manager (or Senior Manager) of Business Recruiting to lead and evolve how we hire across GTM and G&A functions at Intercom. This role is for a recruiting leader who thinks like a business partner, someone who understands how hiring fuels revenue, scale, and operational excellence, and can translate business strategy into a clear, executable talent plan.
You'll own recruiting strategy and delivery for critical GTM and G&A teams, while also driving cross‑functional and global initiatives that improve hiring quality, speed, and consistency as Intercom continues to scale.

What will I be doing?
Partner closely with senior leaders across Sales, Marketing, Customer Support, Solutions, Revenue Ops, Finance, Legal, and People to define hiring priorities and headcount strategy
Translate business goals (growth targets, capacity models, operating plans) into clear recruiting strategies and quarterly hiring plans
Act as a trusted advisor on talent market dynamics, role design, leveling, and trade‑offs between speed, quality, and location
Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing team of Business Recruiters, setting a high bar for execution, candidate experience and stakeholder partnership
Own pipeline health and hiring performance across key business teams, using data to diagnose risks and unblock progress
Use metrics (time to hire, funnel conversion, source mix, quality signals, candidate experience) to inform decisions and influence leaders
Build simple, repeatable reporting that gives leaders clear visibility into hiring health and trade‑offs
Lead and contribute to initiatives that scale Business Recruiting globally (e.g., interviewer capacity, values interview pooling, process consistency, tooling and AI adoption)
Partner with RecOps, People Ops, and Finance to ensure hiring plans are executable and sustainable
Continuously evolve our recruiting model to support growth across regions and functions
What skills do I need?
8+ years of recruiting experience, with people leadership in a fast‑growing tech company
Deep experience hiring for GTM and/or G&A roles, with a strong understanding of commercial and operational talent needs
Proven ability to partner with senior business leaders as a strategic advisor, not just a delivery lead
Strong analytical and operational mindset, comfortable using data to make decisions and tell a compelling story
Experience operating across multiple functions and regions
High standards, strong judgment, and the ability to operate with urgency in competitive markets

The base salary range for candidates within the San Francisco Bay Area is $175,000 - $220,000. Actual base pay will depend on a variety of factors such as education, skills, experience, location, etc. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All regular employees may also be eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
