Purpose:

Athene is looking for an AVP of Investment and Corporate Tax to join our team. This position will report to the VP of Tax & Senior Counsel.

Accountabilities:

Responsible for the following activities:

* Tax analysis of all Athene investments, including:
* identifying and addressing potential adverse US and non-US tax issues associated with investments;
* structuring investments to maximize tax efficiency;
* advising Athene's asset manager as to allocation of investments among Athene entities to maximize tax efficiency;
* identifying and managing risks associated with investments causing non-U.S. Athene entities to be treated as being engaged in a U.S. trade or business or having a U.S. permanent establishment
* identifying and managing potential tax issues associated with placing investments in various insurance-related accounts

* Assist in legal analysis, tax planning and modeling with respect to all aspects of the Company's tax profile, including tax reform impacts, effective tax rate calculations, Base Erosion and Anti-Abuse Tax ("BEAT") issues and computations, and allocation of expenses.
* Provide assistance to Athene's tax compliance and reporting teams to ensure proper financial accounting treatment of all investments, and ensure proper tax reporting and compliance with respect to investments
* Advise on various corporate tax matters (Subchapter C) including in particular advising on corporate tax implications of mergers and acquisitions activity, including reinsurance transactions incidental to M&A activity
* Assist in analyzing international tax issues, including tax treaty issues, Subpart F, PFIC, foreign tax credits, permanent establishment/U.S. trade or business, BEAT, transfer pricing, the OECD Base Erosion and Profit Shifting project ("BEPS"), withholding tax, and UK and potentially other non-U.S. tax compliance/reporting .

Qualifications and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience
* 3-5 years of accounting or analysis experience preferred
* Advanced Microsoft Excel experience required

Purpose:

The BlackLine System Administrator acts as a primary owner and global administrator for the Blackline reconciliation and close management tool, providing day to day support, governance and oversight of the application and ensure adherence to architectural design, data management, certification controls and risk management of the company's balance sheet exposure. * Liaison with IT on user issues, application upgrades, system maintenance and projects as it relates to BlackLine and other integrations to/from the tool. Performing ongoing application maintenance; coordinate upgrade, development, testing and implementation of application enhancements with users and IT.
* Testing BlackLine software to ensure newly implemented and existing functionality is working as intended.
* Collaborate with internal and external business partners to identify inefficient processes and drive the implementation of solutions that deliver improved efficiencies and processes using technology as an enabler.
* Work with business users to develop and track quantifiable metrics to drive process improvements.
* Serve as a source of expert advice, influence change, frame information in a broader organizational context

Purpose:

The New Business Advanced Specialist will be the reporting subject matter expert for the New Business team. + Successfully manage the control environment related to Investment Accounting, maintaining process documentation and support internal and external audit requests

+ Support the financial analysis of operating results, balance sheets, and other key performance indicators related to annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and analysis against actual results

+ Provide regular updates to investment accounting management keeping them abreast of any issues, shortcomings, or accomplishments of the team

+ Stay abreast of market conditions, investment strategies, the changing accounting literature and regulatory guidance to ensure compliance in accounting and reporting

Qualifications and Experience:

Purpose:

The Accountant reports to the Manager - Reinsurance Accounting, and prepares daily, monthly, and quarterly reinsurance settlements, provides a first-level review of activity, communicates directly with external and internal parties, and reports results.

Accountabilities:

+ Prepares the reinsurance settlement for assigned entities and/or agreements. Includes journal entry preparation as well as coordinating work requirements and deadlines from others.

+ Assist in the execution and maintenance of the automated reinsurance accounting system.

+ Researches and resolves variances and inconsistencies noted in settlements by conducting initial investigation and applying accounting techniques.

+ Responds to other departmental requests involving financial information.

+ Documents and verifies ongoing tasks through journal entries and account detail analyses.

+ Performs Cash movement tasks and corresponding clearing entries as assigned.

+ Performs reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts.

+ Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of month and quarter close activities

+ Acts as a first-level contact with assigned internal and external reinsurance stakeholders

+ Assists with departmental projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting

+ Strong attention to detail, with the ability to draw conclusions from research and report on findings

+ At least 3-5 years of related experience; preferred candidate will have experience in public accounting or in the insurance industry

+ Experience in statutory or US GAAP accounting in a life insurance company is preferred, but not required

+ Comfortable with accounting systems; experience with Oracle and Essbase is helpful

+ Completion of or interest in obtaining CPA and/or FLMI designations is preferred.

+ Proficient with MS Office products such as Word and Excel.

Agency Contracting Representative

Purpose:

This position exists to provide the services necessary to support the recruiting, licensing, contracting and termination of producers, organizations, and brokers of Athene's multiple and diverse distribution systems. The challenge of this position is to build contracts to support specified commission structures, and to ensure licensing and contracting is in compliance with state statutes, laws, and guidelines.

Accountabilities:

+ Processes contracting applications by reviewing contract forms to ensure they are complete, they are in compliance with State Insurance Departments, and to determine the compensation structure requested by the requesting party. Conducts a moderate to complex review to determine if there are outstanding requirements based on established guidelines. Builds the contract on the appropriate systems and subsystems to support the desired commission structure.

+ Performs state due diligence prior to contracting producers. Completes a confidential background check by ordering and reviewing the appropriate financial documents (credit reports, criminal reports, vector reports and NAIC state producer database reports) as required by Athene and the respective State Insurance departments. Determine if a producer or organization meets established company guidelines for approval. Approves or recommends declining the producer based on information in the matrix. Works with Producer Review area to review recommendations to decline producers and to receive final approval to decline a producer.

+ Completes producer contracting and appointments in a date sensitive manner to ensure compliance in the acceptance and processing of new business submitted by a producer. Interacts with State Insurance departments regarding licensing, appointments, and terminations to ensure compliance with all state guidelines and statutes. May assist with the processing of state appointment renewals.

+ Maintains producer contracts by processing moderate to complex contract changes, reinstatements, transfers, and terminations.

+ Corresponds with external customers via email or outbound calls to resolve good order requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

+ High school diploma or equivalent required

+ Continuing education (LOMA, Classes, Seminars) preferred

+ Minimum of one year of customer service experience required and one year of processing experience preferred

+ This position requires strong attention to detail skills and efficient/effective use of processing systems and PC systems/software

+ The incumbent must have the ability to understand questions and interpret requests

+ Must possess strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

+ Must have the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work in a high pressure, time intensive, customer service work environment
