Position Summary:
The Fleet Maintenance Tech I reports to the Fleet Maintenance Manager and Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor. The Fleet Maintenance Tech I is personally responsible for providing proper diagnosis and repair of any mechanical issues to the existing operation fleet.
Job Description
Perform assigned repairs and preventive maintenance tasks in accordance with established Standard Repair Times (SRTs), ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company safety and quality standards.
Performs Senior-level repairs and assigned preventative maintenance tasks.
Performs the most critical, and complex work in troubleshooting, inspections, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
Perform safety inspections and checks on vehicles and equipment.
Performs roadside emergency diagnosis and repair of roadside equipment as directed by supervision.
Completes required paperwork associated with repairing vehicles and equipment; to include documentation of parts usage, and repair times.
Attendance and successful accomplishment of all safety and compliance training.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma and/or GED
Familiar with DOT CHP repair processes and controls for Drivers Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Ability to effectively communicate mechanical issues and required repairs.
Perform all tasks safely and in accordance with applicable OSHA rules and regulations.
Consistently behave in a manner that is appropriate and professional.
Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information.
Valid Class C Driver's License.
Acceptable Driver's Record.

A Day In The Life
Create and maintain Preventive/Predictive Maintenance processes for facility wide equipment
Lead team through safely and effectively troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment issues in a timely fashion
Communicate directly with equipment vendors to schedule maintenance, repairs and resolve elevated equipment issues
Oversee and coordinate the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and tools.
Manage the maintenance team, including hiring, training, coaching and evaluating staff performance.
Ensure building & grounds are kept clean, safe and in good working order
Prepare and maintain maintenance logs and reports
Identify and implement cost reduction strategies
Manage budgets and forecast maintenance costs
Work closely with Supply Chain to negotiate contracts with outside vendors, order replacement parts and set up spare parts
Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems.

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic provides technical support for the safe and efficient operation of terminal and logistics equipment with limited supervision. Duties include but are not limited to maintenance and repair of equipment such as bucket elevators, conveyors, pumps, and control devices. Troubleshoots issues, repairs failures of production and facilities equipment and ensures maximum efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Understands process flow and evaluates ways to increase operating efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Gathers technical information to perform the job
Performs equipment walk around and inspects and adjusts equipment; properly disposes of wastes
Performs equipment repairs, changes out parts, checks the status of equipment availability with site supervisors, and follows procedures to pick up parts and supplies from the warehouse
Responsible for all tasks related to predictive and preventative maintenance programs. Tasks include but are not limited to: repair and maintenance of all machinery and equipment such as bucket elevators, conveyors, compressors, and pumps; repair or replacement of control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, as needed
Performs work order repairs
Performs light welding and cutting to patch holes in chutes and reduce spillage throughout the system
Coordinates and plans down time efficiently to maximize uptime of production
Understands all equipment in depth from electric motors, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, load out chutes, gas and diesel engines, vehicle and machine repairs, with the ability to trouble shoot, analyze, and make quick responsive repairs without guidance
Able to set up operator welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools and other metal working equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must regularly lift and/or move 75-100 pounds frequently
Ability to work at elevated heights without fear

Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, use simple math, and use basic hand held measuring tools
Minimum Three (3) years' experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics and basic electrical repair
Must have experience in maintaining and repairing processing equipment and heavy equipment
Strong electronics experience with controls and drives
Basic computer skills required to use maintenance software to track and log maintenance costs
Proficiency with Microsoft word and Excel are required
Courses and/or logged hours in the industrial maintenance field are recommended
Knowledge in equipment reliability and preventative maintenance preferred
Prior training and certification in the following areas highly desirable: welding certification, vibration analysis, electrical/mechanical, bearing training, conveyor systems, pumps, fans, screening equipment, and vibrating conveying systems

Position Purpose:

Responsible for repair and testing of various valves, including but not limited to ball valves, gate valves, butterfly valves, safety relief valves, etc.
Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, measuring, reassembly and testing of valves at Flotech facilities and client locations.
