Position Summary
The OR Surgical Assistant will provide intraoperative, perioperative, and supporting services to Dr. Berger in orthopedic surgical cases across multiple offsite locations. The role requires frequent travel, flexibility, and ability to work seamlessly across different surgical facilities. The Surgical Assistant works under the direct supervision of the orthopedic surgeon, collaborating with operating room teams, anesthesia, nursing, and support staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Preoperative / Preparation
Review the surgical schedule in advance, obtain the case history, imaging, special instrumentation or implant needs
Coordinate with the surgical facility / hospital staff to ensure OR setup, sterile instruments, implants, and disposables are available
Assist with patient positioning, prepping, skin sterilization, and draping
Verify patient identity, operative site, and consent documentation in conjunction with surgeon
Maintain sterile field protocols and assist with gowning/gloving of surgical team
Intraoperative Assistance
Serve as the first or second assistant (as permitted by state/facility) - help retract, suction, maintain exposure, assist with instrumentation, suture / close layers, place drains or devices, apply dressings
Anticipate surgeon's needs, pass instruments, manage implants, and maintain operative efficiency
Monitor tissue handling, maintain hemostasis, assist with cautery, irrigation, and suction
Assist in the insertion, positioning, and securing of orthopedic fixation devices, grafts, screws, plates, etc.
Coordinate with scrub techs, circulators, anesthesia, and other OR staff
Assist during intraoperative imaging (fluoroscopy) and navigation if applicable
Document intraoperative events, counts, and implant usage as required
Postoperative / Turnover
Assist in applying final dressings, splints, or immobilization devices
Aid with patient transfer to recovery area (PACU)
Clean, decontaminate, and turnover the OR between cases as needed
Ensure surgical instruments and trays are properly handled, cleaned, and returned
Cross‑Site Logistics & Coordination
Liaise with facility staff, vendors, and implant reps to ensure appropriate setup
Manage scheduling logistics, travel time, and resource mobilization between sites
Communicate proactively about delays, equipment needs, or facility constraints
Assist in coordinating staff coverage or backup support across sites
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Adhere strictly to aseptic technique, sterile field integrity, infection control, and OR safety protocols

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program, or equivalent training (certified surgical technologist preferred)

Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; additional ACLS or specialty certifications a plus
Experience
Minimum 1-4 years of surgical assisting or scrub tech experience, ideally in orthopedic surgery
Experience with orthopedic instrumentation, implant systems, fixation hardware, and grafts
Prior exposure to multiple surgical facility settings or mobile/rotating OR assignments preferred

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA required.

Ready to join in? We are looking for a full-time, Medical Coder, with experience in orthopedic surgical coding, to be based at our corporate office in Westchester, IL. This position will be Monday thru Friday, no weekends or holidays.
Responsibilities
Performs audits of charges submitted, corrects errors, and develops procedures to eliminate future errors from occurring.
Ensures all encounters are properly entered with billing submitted, by making necessary corrections in the physician practice management system and billing submission systems.
Generates reports to review overall coding for accuracy and completeness, and to develop enhancements to the coding process.
Maintains a working knowledge of coding rules and regulations and the associated resources available, as well as familiarity with appropriate modifier usage.
Researches all information needed to correct and complete the billing process, including obtaining charge information from physicians, nursing staff, and/or technicians.
Responsible for working and managing the surgical appeals regarding Coding claim denials.
Ability to appropriately correspond with physicians and others in a professional manner regarding Coding scenarios and issues.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
At least 3 years' experience as a Certified Medical Coder. Orthopedic surgical coding experience required.
Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9/ICD-10 codes.
Knowledge of utilizing the books for these codes, CodeX, EncoderPro, and Coding Companion for Orthopaedics Surgeons.
Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures.
EMR; Athena experience is a plus.

We are seeking a full-time, temporary, MRI Technologist - Float. This assignment will last approximately 12 weeks. This position will travel to the following clinics: Chicago, Joliet, Oak Brook, Oak Park, Westchester, Naperville, and Munster, IN. The schedule is Monday - Friday, no weekends or holidays. The MRI Technologist will be responsible for performing high quality images per physician's orders while providing excellent patient care. The potential candidate must possess high energy, compassionate, flexible and have great attention to detail.

Maintain appropriate levels of supplies.
Performs duties of co-workers and subordinates as workload dictates.
Interviews patient to explain magnetic resonance imaging procedures and to request removal of metal objects which are hazardous to patient and equipment when magnet is activated.
Provide education and training for student technologists
Coordinate scheduling and patient flow
Start I.V.'s, administer contrast media as directed per protocol
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the MRI facility (includes cleaning floors and surfaces, replacing light bulbs in the ceiling of the MRI scanner room, leaving the trash can outside of the scan room to be emptied by housekeeping staff daily.
Operate the MRI scanner to include routine and experimental setup, modification of scanning parameters to optimize data, weekly quality assurance testing, and basic troubleshooting of scanner malfunction
Document work processes as required.
Work extended hours when necessary
Communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone.
Screening patients prior to scanning, gather accurate history, preparing patients for their scan, providing immediate medical treatment and assistance when necessary and responding to incidents and accidents within the MRI Suite.
Research and document any questionable implanted devices.
Document accurate and appropriate scan information in patient log book.
Maintain a safe and appropriate work area
Attend required meetings
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Research and obtain necessary documentation for insurance companies to process outstanding claims.
Identify denials and appeal with proper documentation within a timely manner to secure payment.
Answers patients' questions regarding statements and insurance coverage. Telephones or emails payers for follow up on outstanding claims.
Responds and handles attorney requests for bills as well as any questions regarding balances. Also negotiates setttlements as cases close.

Our PT's plan, implement and evaluate patient care programs designed to increase, maintain or restore function, minimize or prevent disability and assist patients in reaching their maximum performance levels.

The Senior Manager of Revenue Cycle Management will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health of our organization by overseeing one of the four primary functional areas within the Revenue Cycle Management department. This role requires a highly analytical and strategic thinker who can lead the development and execution of revenue cycle strategies for their designated functional area, which consists of at least three RCM service lines. In addition, the Senior Manager will manage a team of in-house ATI employees and oversee the performance of a large offshore vendor team, comprising over 100 team members.
**Responsibilities**
* Develop and execute the strategic direction for the designated functional area, aligning it with the overall goals of the organization and the Revenue Cycle Management department.
* Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of ATI employees to ensure optimal performance, productivity, and professional growth
* Establish, monitor, and act on operational KPIs to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of revenue cycle operations utilizing data-driven insights, with a deep understanding of their direct impact on ATI's Revenue Recognition model.
* Own the vendor relationship for their functional area, ensuring that they meet SLA performance metrics, adhere to policies/procedures, productivity & quality of day-to-day operations
* Ensure all revenue cycle activities adhere to legal and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., SOX compliance, Government & Commercial Payor guidelines, and internal ATI policies).
* Collaborate with other departments, such as Clinical Operations, IT, HR, and Finance, to streamline processes and improve revenue cycle outcomes.
* Generate regular reports for senior leadership, highlighting the performance and progress of the designated functional area.

**Qualifications**
**Measurable Scope and Accountability**
Depending on the Functional area the following applies:
1. Financial Clearance: If leading the Financial Clearance functional area, ensure timely verification of patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and authorizations. This functional area is also responsible for the Queue Management Team which maintains claim based workqueues and processes all the faxes sent to clinics.
2. Central Business Office: If overseeing the Central Business Office, oversee billing & rejection wqs, Documentation team, and Payment Posting including credit processing.
3. Gov't/Comm/SP AR Follow Up: Manage the resolution of government, commercial, and self pay accounts receivable issues, including denial appeals, unworked claims, and adjustment process. Responsible for the billing customer service team and resolving disputes timely, with an emphasis on patient satisfaction.
4. WC/API AR Follow Up: If managing the WC/API AR Follow Up area, ensure efficient management of workers' compensation, personal injury, and auto accident-related accounts receivable. This includes both litigated and non-litigated AR.
**Minimum Education**
