    Job DescriptionOverviewWe are seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our team in Tampa, FL. Under direction, applies full competency in water resources engineering work and broad knowledge of precedents in the areas of transportation drainage, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and stormwater design. On design assignments, understands how to clearly convey the design intent through engineering drawings and specifications. Experience with FDOT drainage design criteria which may include the following designs: open and closed storm drain design, wet and dry stormwater management facilities, pond siting analysis, base clearance analysis, nutrient loading analysis, and bridge hydraulic analysis. Understanding and experience with local, state and federal regulatory permitting processes, including but not limited to Northwest Florida Water Management District, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Federal Highway Administration and Army Corps of Engineers. On projects involving engineering services related to construction activities, has developed a thorough understanding of construction methods and the manner in which engineering drawings and specifications are translated into the constructed product. Your role Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope. Performs engineering design and/or reviews the design and drafting work of junior engineers, designers or drafters. Prepares cost and man-hour estimates, job budgets and schedules. Plan and review the production of engineering investigations, planning work, drawings and specifications. Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for new projects, weighing alternatives and selecting the most cost-effective solution. Analyze technical problems, assess the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devise new approaches and alternative solutions. Coordinates work with other engineers and professionals within and outside own discipline, and with support services staff. Lead and mentor junior engineers in the development of design concepts. Provide quality control and maintain quality standards, check work performed by others. Occasionally manage projects. Perform other duties as necessary. About you B.S. or M.S. in Engineering. This level may be achieved by Engineers with seven years' experience since B.S.; six years' experience since M.S. Incumbents typically have six to ten years' experience since Bachelor's degree. P.E. license is required. Understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic design principles and applications in Florida. Technical proficiency with the following software: ICPRv4, ArcGIS, Open Roads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D, BMP Trains, ProjectWise Explorer, Microsoft Project, and more. Good technical writing, computer and communications skills. May be eligible to receive project management training. RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct historic resource field surveys. Conduct background research on historic resources using a variety of primary and secondary sources. Evaluate historic resources for eligibility in the National Register of Historic Places in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and other relevant environmental laws. Assess effects to historic resources, including working with engineering professionals and the overall project team to avoid or minimize impacts in accordance with Section 106 and other applicable regulations. Prepare technical reports for distribution to state and federal agencies, including creating project and resource maps in ArcGIS. Maintain internal and external delivery schedules for all assigned projects, prioritized by project baseline schedule dates. Provide project status updates at meetings and serve as the point of contact for any historic resource questions on assigned projects. Must be prepared to spend some time in the field and travel to project sites, with some overnight visits required. Projects will generally be in Florida but could also be outside of the state, as needed. QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE: 0-2 years of full-time professional Architectural Historian experience, including conducting historic resource surveys and background research, plus demonstrated ability to carry projects to completion. EDUCATION: At a minimum, must meet the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification Standards for History or Architectural History, including a degree in History, Architectural History, Historic Preservation, or a closely related field. SPECIAL SKILLS: Excellent written, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Attention to detail is a must. General understanding of the following industries: transportation, infrastructure, state and local governments, and/or regulatory/compliance. Basic level of experience with ArcGIS is desired; intermediate to advanced experience is a plus. Familiarity with reading transportation engineering plans is highly desired but not required. Administers AtkinsRéalis US Engineering Services (US ES) Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Management System, including liaison with other support service functions such as HRBP, fleet management, quality, procurement, global technical center, and other support functions. About you Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in technical discipline related to the sciences and preferably in a Health, Safety, or Environmental field or technical field associated with the architect, engineering and construction (AEC) industry. 0-5 years experience working in that capacity. Work experience prior to and during college taken into consideration as well as experience working with others. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required. Requires proficiency and interest in a wide variety of modern software and AI technology. Must be able to read and write proficiently and be able to correct and improve writing of others. Interest in and ability to understand technical information is valuable inasmuch as the business is infrastructure architecture, engineering, and construction. A positive outlook, helping others, a history of team sports, and other traits and experiences is also considered valuable in this role inasmuch as HSE professionals have to work as a team and with a wide variety of employees.
