As a Warehouse Associate and Backup Driver with Colony Hardware, you will assist in the picking, packing, staging, loading, and (as needed) the delivery of construction materials and products. A Little About Your Day:
From day to day, you will safely load and unload construction materials such as form panels, fabricated rebar, lumber, wire mesh, tools, fasteners, and other supplies.
You will safely operate a forklift or similar equipment as needed to stage, load, unload, or move product.
You will assist with all warehouse activities, shipping, and receiving responsibilities as assigned.
You will maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure that items are easy to locate and in appropriate locations.
As needed, you will operate a non-CDL vehicle (often a straight flatbed truck), including the loading and unloading of customer orders and securely strapping down orders for delivery.
When operating a vehicle, you will perform any needed pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle, equipment, paperwork, and loaded product to ensure your and others' safety.
When delivering product, you will check in frequently with the customer to announce arrival, collect payment, and ensure all signatures are received where appropriate.
What You'll Need for Success:
A minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse, shipping, receiving or packaging environment.
A minimum of 3 years of prior driving experience and deliveries.
To be at least 21 years of age.
A valid driver's license with a sustained record of safe driving.
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs unassisted.
Ability to work on your feet and perform physical work.
Ability to navigate computer applications and websites.
Prior experience operating a forklift is a plus.

Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to assure proper controls in; inventory control, quality, and safety are maintained, and that a positive communication approach, with all employees, is supported. The positions daily objectives will focus on proper utilization of manpower, training, equipment, and to assure materials availability required to process customer orders for on time shipment.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities
Assign work based on shop order control schedules.
Coordinate all customer pick up orders and UPS/FedEx shipments (in/out).
Ensure necessary materials, tools and proper equipment is available to perform daily work.
Train all new hires entering the department.
Responsible for all cross training within the department.
Responsible for leading all activities commiserate with Inventory Transactions and Controls.
Conducts inventory cycle counts.
Troubleshoot inventory issues.
Ensures work area and all shift employees follow safety regulations to include but not limited PPE, 5S and general working conditions.
Conduct monthly safety topic meetings with employee(s).
Reviews and recommends to Department Leadership any measures to improve the department and areas to include but not limited to production methods, equipment, quality, safety, and service, performance of the equipment and individual's shift responsibilities.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus 5 years of experience in shipping, receiving or warehousing; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Operates material handling (forklift and pallet jack) equipment safely per policy and procedures; conducts safety inspections of all forklifts prior to use

Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves
Safely operate and drive vehicles within the Class D category, adhering to traffic laws and regulations
