Job Summary
Manages and coordinates the Shipping & Receiving workforce to ensure the safe movement of inbound and outbound raw materials and finished product.
Job Location
This position will be located at our plant in Acworth, GA.
Job Responsibilities
Ensures delivery schedules are met for customers and materials are received for production.
Manages department to achieve DC metrics including but not limited to On Time Delivery %, Days to Order Invoice, Labor Cost/Lb., and Overall Cost/Lb.
Collaborates with plant management on the development and execution of long-term shipping and receiving improvement plans.
Champions “Open Order Report” to ensure all orders have appropriate shipping dates.
Hires and manages the shipping & receiving distribution staff.
Monitors performance of the team, and ensures required daily tasks are prioritized and executed.
Maintains up-to-date and accurate shipping & receiving data.
Coordinates with Maintenance management to ensure that equipment needs and service requirements are planned and effectively communicated to avoid emergency equipment downtime.
Manages the department budget.
Seeks opportunities to execute continuous process improvement within the Shipping & Receiving department.
Develops methods and techniques to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
Ensures that cost and expense related to department operations are managed within established budgets and uncovers opportunities to reduce costs where appropriate.
Manages and oversees the performance of all shipping & receiving staff and offers coaching and development opportunities to support professional growth within OES.
Ensures all new employees receive necessary safety and technical training to ensure efficient ramp up into maintenance roles.
Maintains and Communicates to human resources accurate employee attendance and performance information.
Authorizes work schedules for payroll.
Approves payroll bi-weekly for Distribution personnel.
Job Requirements
Experience with logistics, preferably in a manufacturing/production environment.
Minimum High school diploma (or equivalent) required, Associates or Bachelors Degree is preferred

Manage logistics for all incoming and outgoing freight.
Inspection of all incoming products - visually inspecting equipment and boxes ensuring quality product is received (no visual damage incurred during shipment). If damaged freight is received, you must get approval from manager before refusing delivery.
Ensure all parts and equipment items are kept with like parts and equipment and that bin locations are properly recorded in the inventory management system for ease of locating and inventory control. Consistency in location is a key result of these efforts.
Conduct random inventory cycle counts as requested by management to verify accurate stock counts.
Ensure shipping accuracy by confirming exact part numbers and/or model and serial numbers along with correct ordered amount against all order paperwork from sales and service. Discrepancies are to be immediately communicated to your manager.
Coordinate pick-up and deliveries with 3rd party carriers.
Receive stock deliveries, unpack, confirm receipt, and put away in correct location. Input and track inventory in ERP system and/or SAP.
Arrange stock transfers in/out of other branches - coordinate and stage service parts for service technicians.
Ensure compliance with all applicable EH&S and OSHA rules and laws, and company ISO quality standards.
Label units and equipment by creating a large 8.5 x 11 identification sheet indicating the model and serial number and placing on the outside of unit/equipment ensuring its visibility from the floor.
Units/equipment must be organized and stored in a central area for ease of retrieval and inventory counts.
Keeps the warehouse clean, organized, and accessible.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent (Related industry experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements)
Associate degree or other post high school training (2 years duration) preferred not required.
Professional experience:
Air compressor experience a plus.
Prior logistics, warehousing, and inventory management experience.
Skilled forklift operations experience and certification is required.
Moderate proficiency with Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel preferred.
SAP knowledge preferred.
1-2 years warehousing, inventory management and logistics experience.

Oversee related LN ERP transaction performance and accuracy, training employees in LN ERP transactions, and insuring transactional discipline
Manage work order kitting process for production and job site (ship loose) kitting insuring on-time delivery, kit content accuracy and complete documentation
Perform department workload planning and prioritization of activities
Performs other duties as assigned by TAS
Leads cycle count program execution and ensures inventory accuracy KPIs are achieved across all warehouse locations
Oversees yard material management, traceability, and weather-protection compliance for structural and pipe inventory.
Ensures timely and accurate ERP transactions using handheld/mobile devices; trains team to maintain transactional discipline.
Supports Procurement and Planning by resolving receiving discrepancies and blocked inventory issues.
Ensures timely and complete documentation for all inbound/outbound transactions, shipping pictures, and chain-of-custody records
Implements standard operating procedures (SOPs), 5S/housekeeping standards, and visual workplace tools
Drives continuous improvement projects that improve efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance quality performance
Represents the warehouse team in cross-functional meetings and planning sessions
JOB SKILLS
Broad knowledge of material handling, warehouse operations

PRIMARY ROLE:
Plans, organizes and monitors the receiving, storage, and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or productions shops ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so product and supplies are located and distributed to proper locations in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.
JOB EXPECTATIONS:
* Plan, lay-out and maintain efficient warehouse. Maintain a clean and organized warehouse.
* Examine and inspect warehouse conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures. Take corrective action as needed.
* Listen to other employee's and manager's suggestions, complaints, problems, safety concerns and recommendations, evaluate each and then devise and implement a plan of action. Get Ops Managers to concur.
* Develop, recommend, and provide process improvement ideas to increase operational efficiency.
* Identify safety hazards and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
* Ensure warehouse activities related to shipping, picking, and receiving are conducted in accordance with company policy and procedure.
* Inspect all shipping parcels for adequate packaging to prevent damage during shipment.
* Supervise and direct activities of assigned team members.
* Supervises up to twelve team members. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of team members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies. Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning, and directing work; assisting in performance evaluations; assisting in rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
* Coach members of the team that are not achieving productivity targets.
* Assist and coordinate inventory and cycle counts with DC Manager.
* Assure material safety data sheets accompany all materials as required.
* Plan and execute yearly inventories.
* Assist DC Manager in development of new policies and procedures.
* Perform other job-related duties as requested by DC Manager.
