Atlanta Beverage company history timeline

1962

After prohibition ended, the company started selling alcoholic beverages, and in 1962, they introduced Busch Bavarian as a regional beer within the Atlanta market.

1964

Thanks to the distributors, in 1964 Anheuser-Busch becomes the first brewery in the world to brew and sell 10 million barrels of beer in one year.

1966

In 1966, Milwaukee Braves move to Atlanta where Budweiser becomes the official beer of the now Atlanta Braves.

1978

Douglas Hertz is the third generation to own and operate the business, which he joined in 1978.

1982

Then in 1982, the company introduces the infamous Budweiser Light, today more commonly known as Bud Light.

2003

Two of United's top competitors for wine and alcohol sales in Atlanta are National Distributing Co., which saw more than $1 billion in revenues for 2003, and Empire Distributors Inc., which had about $290 million in revenues last year.

2016

As for the Tap on Ponce, we've been around since 2016, and are grateful for the opportunity to provide affordable craft beer to the people of Atlanta.
