Where You'll Work: Logistics / Supply Chain About the Role: As a Warehouse Associate II at the Atlanta Community Food Bank, you will play a crucial role in our mission to address food insecurity by accurately and efficiently picking and preparing orders for distribution. You will work in our warehouse, using order lists and equipment to locate, pick, and package food items for delivery to our partner agencies and community members in need. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to ensuring that orders are filled accurately and on time, contributing directly to our efforts to provide food assistance to individuals and families facing hunger. This individual must provide effective and safe operation of all warehouse equipment and maintain a clean, safe work environment. Warehouse Associates contribute additional work as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Manager II, Operations. What You'll Do: Order Picking: Accurately pick food items from designated warehouse locations based on order lists and picking instructions. Ensure that picked items match the quantity, quality, and specifications required for each order. Package and prepare orders for distribution, including labeling, sorting, and organizing items for delivery. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, storage areas, and picking equipment. Assist in inventory counts, stock replenishment, and cycle counting activities as needed. Communicate any discrepancies, damaged items, or inventory issues to supervisors for resolution. Adhere to food safety standards, handling procedures, and storage guidelines to ensure food quality and freshness. Contribute to a positive and team-oriented work environment, supporting colleagues and participating in training and development activities as required. Warehousing: Ensures accurate warehouse inventory in all staging and storage areas, including Ambient, Refrigerated and Freezer locations. Utilizes Warehouse Management System (WMS) for product placement in the Ambient, Refrigerated, and/or Freezer areas. Ensures all physical product movements are appropriately recorded in electronic WWMS and/or other tracking system(s) and documentation. Properly utilizes First in First out (FIFO) procedures. Food & Warehouse Safety: Maintains Food Safety and Housekeeping requirements in all warehouse operations. Ensures proper storage temperatures and conditions are maintained, tracked, and recorded. Keeps all floor areas organized, free of debris, water or other potential contaminants or hazards. Follow Personnel Safety procedures. Pre-check warehouse equipment for safety prior to operation. Wears and utilizes all required PPE and safety equipment / tools. Performs other duties as assigned.
