1926

About Us The Atlanta Historical Society was founded in 1926 to preserve and study Atlanta history.

1990

In 1990, after decades of collecting, researching, and publishing information about Atlanta and the surrounding area, the organization officially became Atlanta History Center.

1996

The Atlanta History Center offers exhibitions on the Civil War, African American heritage, and Southern folk art, with a wing dedicated to the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games.
