Carpentry Teacher
The Carpentry teacher will be responsible for teaching the theoretical and practical concepts, strategies, and techniques associated with the construction field within the Career, Technical, and Agriculture Education (CTAE) framework.
ACCA's Carpentry teacher will teach a post-secondary Carpentry curriculum that results in APS high school students receiving college credit while in high school.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
CERTIFICATION:
Must hold or be eligible for a certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission for the course(s) taught or be eligible to participate in the district's non-certification pathway
Must possess and maintain the appropriate professional credentials related to Carpentry/Construction (NCCER certification preferred).
EDUCATION:
Must possess and demonstrate an Associate degree required
Three (3) years of related work experience in the field of carpentry or construction. Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis required
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university preferred
Completion of a program of preparation in the teaching field or discipline (Carpentry or Construction Management) at an accredited private or public post-secondary institution preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) years of paid work experience in the field of carpentry or construction within the past seven (7) years.
