Atlantic Health System's Sports Medicine Department is searching for a licensed per diem Athletic Trainer. This position will provide their service to our contracted sports teams, on varying days and evenings. The incumbent will be working directly with the medical team comprising of medical doctors, orthopedic surgeons and functional medicine doctors, and will provide emergency care and crises management for sport related injuries, and coordinate care for athletes with the rehabilitation team.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Delivers treatment and care to patients under the supervision of the physician.
2. Promotes, develops, and implements safety and injury prevention measures.
3. Provides appropriate injury assessment and care, making referrals to other treatment providers as appropriate.
4. Develops a policy and procedure manual for the athletic training program to ensure compliance with standards of good practice and all relevant rules and regulations.
5. Acts as liaison between patient, physician, and physician office staff.
6. Assists with development of new programs and materials focused on wellness, injury prevention, and fitness for physically active patients (athletes).
7. Performs other related duties as assigned.
