EXPERIENCE:

Incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
NJDEP State License expires every two years and must be renewed biennially as an essential work requirement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, potential injury, and hazardous substances, including electromagnetic radiation. Position requires the ability to stand a majority of the time; and require the ability to sit in front of a CRT monitor much of the time. Position requires extensive pushing, pulling and lifting of patients and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Education

As a CT Technologist Trainee, you'll begin your journey toward becoming a vital member of a patient-centered imaging team. Through guided orientation and hands-on experience, you'll build the knowledge and skills needed to perform safe, accurate CT scans under physician supervision. From start to finish, you'll work closely with patients-learning to ensure their comfort, safety, and a positive imaging experience.
Throughout the program, you'll gain exposure to advanced imaging techniques, support high-quality patient care, and prepare to earn your ARRT CT certification. You'll train alongside experienced technologists, contribute to clinical excellence, and grow within a collaborative environment that values innovation, service, and professional development.
This is a unique opportunity to expand your skill set and grow your career with the support and resources you need to succeed. Advancement to CT-level compensation is contingent upon successful completion of certification and registration by the ARRT in Computed Tomography (CT), which must be passed within 18 months of hire or transfer.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduate of an accredited radiologic technologist program required
License/Certification:
Active BLS for Healthcare Providers required
Active NJDEP License in Diagnostic Radiography required
Active ARRT R.T.(R) required
ARRT (CT) certification required within 18 months of hire or transfer
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of diagnostic imaging experience preferred
Ability to multitask with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment required
Proficiency with clinical applications preferred upon hire; must be obtained within 30-60 days of hire or transfer
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role involves potential exposure to hospital-related hazards, including infectious diseases and electromagnetic radiation. The position requires frequent standing, pushing, pulling, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.).

This position reports to the CT Supervisor.

AMI is offering an opportunity for X-Ray Technologists who are interested in cross training in CAT Scan (CT)! Experienced Technologist? New graduate? If you are interested in becoming a CT Technologist, this is a great opportunity to train and prepare in a growing, innovative outpatient imaging facility. AMI's comprehensive training program will prepare you as you embark on a new career path and prepare to take the ARRT CT boards.

Training for this position will prepare you for the role of the CT Technologist. The responsibilities of the CT Technologist include, but are not limited to:
Perform all computerized axial tomography examinations per departmental policies, as scheduled and upon demand;
Perform additional functions including image reconstruction, archiving, filming and other software functions as directed by the Radiologist or as per standard departmental policy; and
Any other duties as assigned.
This full time, 40 hour per week position includes a work schedule of varying days, evenings, and rotating Saturdays. This position will receive training and provide coverage in the AMI offices in Brick, Toms River, and Wall.
Qualifications
Candidates for this position must be a graduate or upcoming graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology; registered or registry-eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). Current and valid NJ DEP license and ARRT are required prior to the start of employment. American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross Basic Life Support is required and must be obtained prior to start of employment. Must be willing to receive training and certification in venipuncture for the injection of contrast media via butterfly needle and IV catheter. In-house training will be provided. Must be willing to complete the CT Cross Training program in accordance with the Cross Training Agreement and successfully achieve the ARRT CT registry.
