1991: Company opens sales office in Mexico.
On May 19, 1992, the Bylaws were amended to change the membership of the Board of Directors, to change the definition of SENIOR member, to establish a category of EMERITUS member and to establish an AFFILIATE category.
1992: New division is created to serve Puerto Rican market.
The 1993 purchase of Iowa-based Warren Transport from Federal Express added 450 tractors and 1,500 trailers to the fleet.
As word got around, growth became so rapid that by 1994 ATS Warehouse had over 500,000 square feet of space spread out over 7 locations throughout Charleston.
In 1998 that indeed happened, but ATS responded by opening ATS Intermodal, LLC, a local fleet of trucks with a balance of company drivers and owner operators who are there to meet the needs of our customers and fulfill the promises ATS has stood by.
In 1999, ATS produced sales in excess of $250 million and had fou r business divisions.
2000: Total ATS revenues reach more than $275 million.
On May 22, 2001, the Bylaws were amended to clarify the roles of the following committees Ad-hoc, Other, Executive, Nominating and Audit and Finance.
On May 20, 2003, the Bylaws were amended to include a provision, granting the Board of Directors the authority to approve compensation to the President for their services and related administrative expenses.
On May 25, 2004, the Bylaws were amended to revise the purpose statement; the addition of a new member category (In-Transition); the addition of two presidential appointees to the Board of Directors; and greater clarity on the transition of the members of the ATS Executive Committee.
Anderson Trucking began work on its new $10 million headquarters in May 2005.
On May 24, 2005, the Bylaws were amended to include a provision, granting the Board of Directors the authority to approve compensation to the President-elect for their services and related administrative expenses.
During its anniversary year of 2005, ATS's resources consiste d of more than 1,900 tractors and 3,300 trailers, delivering more tha n 100,000 loads each year.
2005: ATS celebrates 50 years in business.
On May 19, 2009, the bylaws were amended to update the purpose statement to include sleep-related.
In 2011, ATS Management made the decision to start running trucks outside the state borders of South Carolina.
By 2012, ATS Intermodal's truck fleet grew to 42 tractor trailers and 10 53' dry vans.
In 2012, ATS also started making plans to build a brand new warehouse, office and truck container yard on its West Montague and Dorchester Properties.
Our Air Park and Hock Avenue locations were sold and all operations and offices were consolidated under one roof by the end of 2014.
On May 23, 2017, the bylaws were amended to provide greater consistency in the work of ATS committees; and uniformity of the leadership role on committees.
