The Activity Attendant is part of our Fun Squad. The ideal candidate has high energy and a willingness to learn and grow. This role will work in our Family Activity Center, which includes a bowling alley, movie theater, and arcade. The Activity Attendant will be trained in all operations of the Family Activity Center, and will implement the day to day operations of the facility. This role will provide excellent customer service to all guests, ensure all equipment is operating properly, and work collaboratively with other Kalamazoo Country Club team members across departments. Activity Attendants will work a variety of special events in the Family Activity Center, serving 600-1,400 members. The ideal candidate has flexible availability including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
What You'll Be Doing
Provide practical support, problem solving, and excellent customer service during the daily operations of the bowling alley, movie theater, and arcade.
Serve as a “party host,” for private rentals of the Family Activity Center, meeting all the needs of our guests in a positive, consistent, and customer focused manner.
Work collaboratively and effectively with co-workers.
Accurately complete procedures for facility operations, cleanliness, and safety.
Clean and sanitize toys, equipment, and furniture within the activity areas.
Attend all required meetings and staff training.

SUMMARY:
Desk Attendant
This position is responsible for daily services and operations of the residence hall. This includes supporting Campus Security in the ongoing safety and security of the residence hall; greeting and registering visitors; acting as a resource person; addressing violations of the Housing Handbook and Student Code; assisting the Student Life Office whenever possible; and other duties as assigned by the Residence Life Coordinator.

This position acts as a general assistant to the department, performing clerical office functions related to daily operations as well as assisting the department
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assist with the security of the building and safety of the students.
* Welcome and assist persons entering the residence hall. By greeting residents as they enter the building, the attendant helps create a sense of community.
* Desk Attendants must be familiar with Davenport University policies, be able to answer questions regarding them, and address policy violations as they occur.
* Receive and record phone calls and pass on messages to the residence life and housing staff.
* The desk attendant will receive, sort, and deliver mail to resident mail boxes efficiently and in a timely manner.
* Maintain confidentiality at all times including all matters pertaining to student information.
* Attend all meetings, training and scheduling sessions as required as a part of the Residence Life team.
* Complete other duties as assigned. These may include: making, posting, or removing signs, collating, delivering messages, and other basic clerical duties. These duties will vary depending on the time of the year. This includes paying great attention to administrative detail.
* Assist front desk operation including: birthday cards for residential students, copy requests, campus safety functions, room tours, inventory, key check, guest passes, etc..
* Plan and facilitate team-building activities for desk attendants.
* Provide GREAT customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers.
* Demonstrate and promote the University Cultural Values.
* Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies. This includes NCAA, GLIAC and national affiliations associated within athletics or other role specific regulations.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school diploma or GED equivalent.
* Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours as an undergraduate student or 3 credit hours as a graduate student while meeting the standards of academic progress.
* Minimum grade point average of 2.5.
* Preference will be given to students living in the Residence Halls.
* Customer service experience preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized data systems (PC and mainframe).
* Excellent interpersonal skills that transcend diverse audiences; communicating to university customers with positive attitudes toward change, confidentiality, and conflict resolution.
* Demonstrated motivational and problem solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the University.
* Must be able to work an irregular schedule, evenings or Saturday as needed, additional hours during peak times or as required.
* Business office/Residence hall environment. Prolonged sitting and standing. Use of personal computer and telephone (eye and hand strain).
