Responsibilities: - Represent healthcare professionals and institutions in litigation matters, including medical malpractice, general liability, and human services cases. - Take ownership of cases throughout all stages of litigation, from initial discovery to depositions and trial proceedings. - Prepare and draft legal documents, including motions, briefs, and other necessary filings. - Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies. - Defend depositions and effectively argue motions in court hearings. - Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless case management and uphold high standards of attention to detail. - Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced attorneys and staff as needed. - Meet annual billable hour requirements, starting at 1,800 hours. - Maintain effective communication with clients, offering legal advice and updates on case progress. Requirements - Active Delaware law license. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare litigation, medical malpractice, or related fields. - Strong background in civil litigation, including trial experience and defending depositions. - Proficiency in drafting motions, briefs, and managing discovery processes. - Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail. - Effective verbal and written communication abilities. - Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. - Leadership experience with a capacity to mentor less experienced team members.
