This position will be responsible for preparing charging documents; reviewing evidentiary documents; issuing subpoenas; interviewing and preparing witnesses; performing legal research; responding to pre-trial and post-trial motions; conducting trial strategy; coordinating with victim-witness case manager; representing the Commonwealth in adjudications/trials, sentencing hearings, probation violation hearings, show cause hearings, etc. In addition, they will manage a misdemeanor and felony caseload. This position will evaluate and screen cases for disposal in District Court or indictment in Circuit Court. Hiring salary is commensurate with experience. Minimum Qualifications Requires a Juris Doctor Degree (JD) from an accredited law school and two (2) years of related work experience as a licensed practicing attorney; licensed member of the Virginia State Bar. Job Contingencies and Special Requirements Must be licensed to practice law in Virginia.
