As the Director of Survey, you'll be pivotal in guiding our survey operations, blending strategic planning with hands-on leadership to achieve outstanding results.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a Project Manager Business Plan to steer our survey projects towards success.
Client & Contract Management: Engage with clients to define project goals, manage contract negotiations, and ensure agreements are in place before project start.
Financial Oversight: Oversee project invoicing, accounts receivable, and ensure financial alignment with contracts.
Communication & Coordination: Facilitate internal communication, foster team collaboration, and coordinate with stakeholders to define project parameters.
Team Development: Mentor and support team members, promoting professional growth and ensuring high-quality project outcomes.
Business Development: Drive growth through strategic marketing, client engagement, and proposal management.
Project Documentation: Ensure efficient and thorough documentation using web-based tools.
Industry Insight & Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and apply insights to improve project performance and outcomes.
Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to engage effectively.
Proven experience in survey project management and leadership roles.
Proficiency in engineering, environmental, land planning, and survey concepts.
Strong organizational and time management skills with a track record of handling multiple projects.
Ability to build and maintain client relationships and contribute to business development.
Bachelor's degree in surveying, engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Professional licensure or certification.
5+ years of experience in a land development-focused survey leadership role.

Responsibilities
• Operate Atwell's main switchboard supporting 40+ offices
• Manage conference room scheduling and coordinate meetings and trainings
• Arrange catering and oversee meeting logistics
• Handle daily mail distribution and shipping via UPS, USPS, and FedEx
• Provide administrative support for project teams
• Maintain clean and organized office and kitchen spaces

Qualifications

Construction Project Manager - Renewables
Supporting Atwell Owner's Representative and Construction Monitoring Services (OR/CMS) Team
The Role:
Extensive Industry Experience: Our team brings over 30 years of combined expertise and has supported more than 15,000 MW of renewable energy projects, including utility-scale solar PV, wind, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, and transmission infrastructure.
Trusted by Project Owners and Developers: We primarily partner with owners and developers of large-scale renewable energy projects, typically ranging in the hundreds of megawatts.
Comprehensive Project Support: We provide end-to-end technical oversight throughout the engineering and construction phases, serving as trusted Owner's Engineers and on-site representatives.
Representing client interests on-site by monitoring construction, interconnection, and commissioning activities performed by EPCs and third parties
Identifying and mitigating technical and execution risks to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
Resolving issues proactively to minimize delays and safeguard project quality and performance
Key Responsibilities:
Lead OE Oversight Activities: Serve as the primary point of contact for Owner's Engineering services, integrating technical, environmental, scheduling, and document control functions into a cohesive project framework.
Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with engineering leads across electrical, civil, environmental, and permitting teams to align all deliverables and ensure consistency throughout the project lifecycle.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and timely communication with Owners, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to support transparency and alignment.
Document Control & Review Management: Oversee OE documentation workflows, including drawing reviews, comment resolution, and status tracking to support client decision-making and recordkeeping.
Schedule & Budget Monitoring: Track project milestones, update schedules, and support budget adherence by identifying and mitigating risks early.
Performance & Risk Reporting: Prepare and present project updates, risk assessments, and performance metrics to the Owner's leadership team.
Compliance & QA/QC: Ensure all OE activities adhere to environmental regulations, design standards, internal processes, and client expectations.
Continuous Improvement: Capture lessons learned and develop recommendations for process optimization across projects.
Requirements
Prior experience in:
The construction of utility-scale renewable energy projects, 7+ years, including at least some of - civil, structural, mechanical, and/or electrical (DC, MV, HV) construction work
Renewable Energy Major Equipment types - PV modules, solar trackers, inverters, MV transformers, substations, MPT/GSU transformers, a plus: battery storage module, instrumentation, SCADA
Construction project management, quality management, and safety management practices
Construction document management systems
Construction management software
Microsoft Office software (Word Excel, Outlook and Project)
Must possess or obtain, and maintain throughout, the following:
Valid US Driver's License
OSHA 30-Hour Construction Training certificate
NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace certificate
First Aid/CPR/AED certificate
Must be able to:
Engage directly and professionally with Atwell clients and all parties on site
Work at client project sites, long term, anywhere in the continental United States
Work outdoors, in all seasons, under all safe weather conditions

JOB SUMMARY
Atwell specializes in power generation and power delivery services including electrical high-voltage, substations, switchyard, transmission line, distribution design, overhead & underground collection systems, hydrocarbon facilities, and power generation facilities including gas and renewable energy facilities.
The Structural Engineer will support the project team by leading design aspects of the project and will address engineering issues for various projects. In this full-time role, an employee will be expected to develop and demonstrate proficiency in regards to the essential functions of the job found below.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Discipline Management: Manage structural engineering resources and ensuring adequate support is being provided to proposal and project teams. Participate in the recruitment efforts to grow the structural engineering team.
Lead and Support Project Teams: Guide project team members on various assignments under the direction of the Project Manager, providing technical training and mentorship to ensure project success.
Collaborate on Projects & Proposals: Work closely with team members and clients to develop project plans, prepare proposals, and ensure all deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations.
Draft & Review Technical Documents: Prepare, review, and finalize structural design deliverables, reports, computations, structural analyses, project schedules and budgets. Provide recommendations to the Project Manager regarding project design deliverables or scope.
Implement Revisions & Compliance Updates: Modify plans and documents based on feedback from agencies, municipalities, and clients, ensuring compliance with local and state regulations.
Field Assessments: Conduct site visits as required to support project development.
Utilize Engineering Software: Apply AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to efficiently complete assignments while adhering to Atwell's Product Quality Manual standards.
Manage Client & Agency Communications: Engage with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies, responding to review letters and coordinating project updates in collaboration with the Project Manager.
Provide Project Updates & Status Reports: Keep the Project Manager and Team Leader informed on workload status, ensuring project timelines and objectives are met.
Apply Engineering Principles & Best Practices: Utilize fundamental engineering concepts and industry best practices to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
Demonstrate Strong Workload Management: Effectively prioritize and manage tasks to meet project deadlines and maintain efficiency.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
Master's preferred in Structural or Civil Engineering.
REQUIREMENTS
Twelve (12) plus years of experience in structural analysis and design of structural steel and concrete foundations (deep and shallow) for heavy industrial, power generation and/or electric transmission projects.
Experience preferred in structural analysis and design of structures for substation and transmission line projects or gas generation facilities.

Position Snapshot:
Atwell is currently seeking an Electrical Designer in the Renewable Energy and Utility sectors, with a primary focus on utility-scale solar projects and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This position supports a wide range of clients, including Developers, IPPs, Utilities, EPCs, and Owner/Operators involved in power delivery, solar, wind, and energy storage projects.
The role involves supporting the electrical design of power delivery systems for renewable energy projects ranging from 100 kW to over 1,000 MW, and BESS installations from 5 MWh to 1,000+ MWh. Candidates should have a strong foundation in electrical design principles and a passion for contributing to the advancement of clean energy infrastructure.
Requirements:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting Renewable Energy or Utility-scale projects
Experience in the utility or merchant power sector is highly desirable
Strong understanding of engineering design principles related to utility-scale solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects
Day to Day
Prepare complete drawing packages for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and photovoltaic (PV) layouts, including facility plans, general arrangements, sections, details, and profiles to ensure clear and concise representation of system components
Utilize a variety of engineering and power system software tools such as PSCAD, AutoCAD, PVSyst, and PVCase to support the development of technical designs
Collaborate closely with lead engineers to execute design and performance simulations for renewable energy and energy storage projects, and generate high-quality deliverables based on multiple design inputs
Apply practical engineering and construction knowledge across battery storage, solar, and alternative energy technologies to ensure all deliverables comply with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications
Support the development of electrical designs for BESS, solar PV, EV DC fast charging infrastructure, and microgrid systems
Pay Range - $30.00 - $60.00

Qualifications:

JOB SUMMARY
Atwell specializes in power generation and power delivery services, including high-voltage electrical systems, substations, switchyards, transmission lines, distribution design, overhead and underground collection systems, and renewable energy power generation facilities such as Windfarms, PV/Solar farms, and BESS facilities.
The Electrical Engineer with an emphasis in the power sector will play a key role in supporting the project team by leading various design components on individual projects. This position requires the individual to develop and demonstrate expertise in performing the core responsibilities outlined below.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Demonstrate a strong understanding of power engineering principles, with expertise in high-voltage electrical systems and components involved in power generation, transmission, distribution, and substation design..
Communicates effectively with all project stakeholders, actively coordinating engineering and design activities across multiple engineering disciplines, including substation physical, protection & control, SCADA, civil, structural, transmission, distribution, collection system, studies, construction, procurement, and project management.
Lead the engineering efforts on project design through the different project milestones from start to finish.
Assist project managers in developing proposal documents and estimates for bidding or change orders.
Work with drafters, designers, and other engineers on the preparation and checking of design drawings and design packages.
Participation in occasional site visits, Field walkdowns, or client meetings at the client location may be required.
Communicate with the Project Manager and Discipline Manager regarding workload status and complete assignments within scope, schedule, and budget with a high degree of accuracy to ensure the delivery of quality results.
Draft, review, and finalize project technical documents including, but not limited to: master deliverable list, design criteria, design drawings, engineering reports, specifications, bill of materials, technical proposals, cost estimates, feasibility studies, testing procedures, commissioning plans, construction staging, and outage plans, and scope of work documents.
Have a solid understanding of industry practices and standards such as NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEEE, ANSI, USDA, and other relevant technical standards.
Conduct interdisciplinary reviews of design packages prepared by other engineering teams to ensure seamless coordination and integration across all engineering disciplines.
KEY COMPETENCIES AND SKILLSET
INTERCONNECTION
PSCAD and PSSE load flow and dynamic analysis
Experience with dynamic modeling and tuning of renewable generators in PSSE using the WECC generic models
Experience with dynamic benchmarking of PSSE and PSCAD models
Strong understanding of latest industry standards related to modeling, including: NERC PRC and MOD standards, IEEE 2800, IEEE 1547, FERC orders
Must be familiar with generation interconnection processes in ERCOT, MISO, SPP, and FERC pro-forma.
Experience with model tuning to meet PRC-019, PRC-024, PRC-029 preferred
Experience with model tuning to meet MOD-026 and MOD-027 preferred
Experience with injection studies, LGIP/SGIP/DER system impact studies, transmission capability analyses, LMP forecasting, and congestion analyses is required.
High proficiency in using specialty software and tools, such as PSSE, PSCAD, PSLF, ASPEN One-liner, ETAP, EMTP, SKM, CYME, TSAT, PowerWorld, and Windmill, is strongly desired.
Develop high-quality technical reports for documenting the process and results of the electrical studies performed..
ELECTRICAL STUDIES
Demonstrate a strong understanding of electrical theory and concepts in performing studies such as: load flow & reactive power, short circuit, grounding, cable ampacity, energy loss, harmonics, protection coordination, arc flash, effective grounding, insulation coordination, induced voltages, and TOV/TRV is required.
High proficiency in using specialty software and tools, such as ETAP, CYMCAP, WinIGS, CDEGS, PSSE, PSCAD, PSLF, ASPEN One-liner, EMTP, SKM, TSAT, CYME, PowerWorld, and Windmill, is strongly desired.
Review utility interconnection studies and ensure compliance with interconnection and PPA requirements.
Develop high-quality technical reports for documenting the process and results of the electrical studies performed.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET Accredited)
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification is desired for Level I through III

About the Role
Atwell's Power & Energy team delivers utility-scale renewable projects-solar PV, BESS, substations, and T&D. We're hiring a mid-level Structural Engineer to take ownership of core design packages for large solar/BESS facilities while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams. This is a hands-on technical role with opportunities to lead workstreams, interface with clients, and support junior staff.
What You'll Do
Own structural design packages for utility-scale solar/BESS: equipment platforms and skids, inverter/transformer/PCS pads, racking/tracker foundations (piles/piers/mats), cable-tray and site steel.
Run and document calculations (wind/seismic/uplift/lateral/settlement) to ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, IBC; translate geotech data into foundation criteria and designs.
Produce and review drawings/specs (plans, sections, connection details) from 30/60/90% through IFC; perform/redline QA/QC and coordinate with CAD/BIM teams.
Model and analyze in STAAD.Pro/Robot and L-PILE (or equivalent); maintain traceable calc packages and design assumptions.
Coordinate daily with project managers and civil, electrical, and geotechnical disciplines to align scope, schedule, and budget; respond to RFIs and vendor/shop drawings.
Nice-to-Have Exposure
Substation/T-line structures (equipment supports, bus/frames, drilled/spread footings).
PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE/FAD Tools for occasional T&D interfaces.
Owner/agency review cycles, permitting submittals, and comment resolution.
Qualifications
BS in Civil or Structural Engineering (MS preferred).
6-10 years of structural analysis and design experience with steel and concrete; direct utility-scale solar/BESS experience strongly preferred.
Proficiency with STAAD.Pro or Autodesk Robot and L-PILE (or equivalent foundation tools); strong AutoCAD/Civil 3D literacy for plan production/markups.
Working knowledge of ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, IBC; ability to convert geotechnical reports into practical, buildable designs.
EIT required; PE preferred (or ability to obtain within 12 months).

What We're Looking For
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET Accredited)
EIT or PE depending on level:
Engineer I: Internship experience preferred
Engineer II-III: EIT preferred or required
Engineer IV-V: PE strongly preferred or required
5-10+ years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus in power systems, renewable energy, or substations
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Office, and at least one power system analysis software

Operate Trimble total stations, GPS, and data collectors to capture high-quality, reliable data.

Establish and locate vertical and horizontal control points with precision.
Record detailed field notes and prepare accurate as-built documentation.

What You Bring
10+ years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief.
Proven expertise in performing construction staking, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, topographic, boundary, and as-built surveys.

As a Survey CAD Technician at Atwell, you will work on diverse projects with various sizes, scopes, and details. JOB SUMMARY
Atwell specializes in power generation and power delivery services including electrical high-voltage, substations, switchyard, transmission line, distribution design, overhead & underground collection systems, and renewable energy power generation facilities such as Windfarms, PV/Solar farms, and BESS facilities.
The Structural Engineer will support the project team by leading design aspects of the project and will address engineering issues for various projects. In this full-time role, an employee will be expected to develop and demonstrate proficiency in regards to the essential functions of the job found below.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead and Support Project Teams: Guide project team members on various assignments under the direction of the Project Manager, providing technical training and mentorship to ensure project success.
Collaborate on Projects & Proposals: Work closely with team members and clients to develop project plans, prepare proposals, and ensure all deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations.
Draft & Review Technical Documents: Prepare, review, and finalize site plans, reports, utility computations, project schedules, permit applications, and due diligence/site analysis reports. Provide recommendations to the Project Manager regarding project direction.
Implement Revisions & Compliance Updates: Modify plans and documents based on feedback from agencies, municipalities, and clients, ensuring compliance with local and state regulations.
Conduct Research & Field Assessments: Perform research on local/state zoning requirements, conduct site visits, and complete field assignments as needed to support project development.

As a Project Surveyor at Atwell, you will play a critical role in the success of our survey group and the execution of projects that vary in size, detail, and complexity. Work with the Project Managers to ensure the scope and budget of projects are on track.
Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D daily and related engineering software packages to complete assignments on time and within prescribed standards and budgets.
Review survey field calculations and adjust as needed.
Effectively communicate with internal staff, contractors, inspectors, and team leaders to maintain a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications
The ideal Project Surveyor will have an advanced understanding of; Boundary Surveys, ALTA Surveys, Leveling, Traversing, GPS, Data Collections, Legal Descriptions, Plan interpretations, along Real Estate Documents
Prior experience with Trimble equipment, and Trimble Business Center is highly preferred.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
Prior experience working in the field on a survey crew is highly preferred.
LSIT or PLS is desired.

Are you a visionary leader with a commitment to surveying excellence? We're seeking a Director of Survey to drive our ambitious projects and shape our future.
As the Director of Survey, you'll be pivotal in guiding our survey operations, blending strategic planning with hands-on leadership to achieve outstanding results.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a Project Manager Business Plan to steer our survey projects towards success.
Client & Contract Management: Engage with clients to define project goals, manage contract negotiations, and ensure agreements are in place before project start.
Financial Oversight: Oversee project invoicing, accounts receivable, and ensure financial alignment with contracts.
Communication & Coordination: Facilitate internal communication, foster team collaboration, and coordinate with stakeholders to define project parameters.
Team Development: Mentor and support team members, promoting professional growth and ensuring high-quality project outcomes.
Business Development: Drive growth through strategic marketing, client engagement, and proposal management.
Project Documentation: Ensure efficient and thorough documentation using web-based tools.
Industry Insight & Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and apply insights to improve project performance and outcomes.
Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to engage effectively.
Proven experience in survey project management and leadership roles.
Proficiency in engineering, environmental, land planning, and survey concepts.
Strong organizational and time management skills with a track record of handling multiple projects.
Ability to build and maintain client relationships and contribute to business development.
Bachelor's degree in surveying, engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Professional licensure or certification.
5+ years of experience in a land development-focused survey leadership role.

$130,000 - $180,000 USD
