Troy University is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, outstanding Music Theory/Composition professional to join the John M. Long School of Music faculty. The Troy University is a public, doctoral-granting, Carnegie-classified research university with an enrollment of more than 14,000 students. The Music Education and Music Industry programs in the School of Music are well-established and respected at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will have a strong background in music theory/composition with a documented record of teaching excellence and significant experience in commercial music. Responsibilities:Teach core undergraduate courses including Music Theory (classical and contemporary) and orchestration and arranging; teach undergraduate/graduate courses in music industry including Film Scoring, Composition, Songwriting, and/or other courses as determined by the needs of the school and candidate expertise; assist in curriculum development; contribute to undergraduate and graduate recruiting and retention; maintain an active regional/national professional presence and creative activity profile consistent with the expectations of tenure and promotion; participate in shared governance through service to the School, College, and University.
