The individual selected for this position will assist with ongoing land and facilities management responsibilities for the College of Agriculture, including (but not limited to) construction duties, planning and completing projects, and operating heavy equipment and machinery.
**Essential Functions**
**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:**
+ Operates heavy equipment such as tractors, backhoes, bulldozers, excavators, trenchers, forklifts, etc. used for various construction projects on university property and may also drive semi-trucks.
+ Excavates, grades, and resurfaces fields and surfaces at various job sites.
+ Builds/renovates structures and support structures to include ponds, greenhouses, pole barns, and other buildings.
+ Assists in the planning and estimating of department construction projects.
+ May perform welding and plumbing functions in support of local facilities. Loads and transports materials from one location to another.
+ May be occasionally required to travel for out of town and/or overnight work.
+ May apply various pesticides to plants, shrubs, and trees.
+ Repairs and maintains equipment and vehicles ensuring that they are in proper working condition.

The Research Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Pls of AUMERC in ongoing grant-funded extension and research projects including but not limited to an investigation of estuarine and nearshore microbial/physicochemical water quality conditions, evaluation of oyster restoration locations and approaches, Oyster Gardening programs located in both Mississippi and Alabama, as well as additional projects related to the study of water and habitat quality within the greater Mobile Bay area. This position will require significant time spent in the field where working conditions can be wet, muddy, hot, and sunny. There will also be regular lab and office work including meetings. **Auburn University's Advancement Office** is currently providing a full-time paid summer internship for Summer 2026. Auburn Advancement encourages students from all backgrounds to examine different careers in the nonprofit sector, promote the advancement of Auburn University through fundraising programming, and engage with employees, alumni, and donors.
Auburn Advancement will provide interns with 10 weeks of work experience, from May 20 to August 7. Internships are open to rising sophomores through May 2026 graduates from Auburn University and Auburn University Montgomery. Interns will earn $14.00/hour and will have an unpaid vacation week from June 29-July 3. Auburn University will also be closed on May 25th and June 19th.
**Essential Functions**
+ Interns will spend time with various fundraising constituencies across campus where they will attend donor visits, shadow unit meetings, and assist in targeted frontline experiences. Interns will also spend time in a central rotation where they will gain experience in non-fundraising roles in advancement including engagement, advancement marketing, portfolio strategy, culture and talent, advancement boards, etc.
+ Weekly educational sessions will be provided by subject-matter experts to enrich overall knowledge and experience with all areas of the Advancement industry.
+ At the end of the internship, all interns are expected to prepare a final presentation highlighting their experiences and projects during their time in the program.

Minimum Qualifications
* Admitted to a graduate degree-seeking or certificate program at Auburn University.
* Bachelor's degree in business, sport management, or related field.
* Registered for at least one course (anything carrying an Auburn University course number) during each academic term of the assistantship.
Expectations:

**Job Summary**
The Office of Professional and Continuing Education is home to Auburn Youth Programs which operates academic, athletic, cheer, and dance summer camps for over 4,000 high school students throughout the summer. Camp staff will help Auburn Youth Programs bring our summer camps to life and perform behind the scenes tasks to help campers have a unique experience at Auburn University.

**Essential Functions**
A successful Auburn Youth Programs Staff Member will be an Auburn student with a passion for impacting and serving youth. We're looking for an individual that will work behind the scenes to support the smooth and safe operation of all AYP camps and programs and ensure an extraordinary Auburn Experience for camp participants. Staff are allowed to take classes but must work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
**As a successful AYP Staff Member, you will** :
+ **Prepare & Communicate:** Work in the AYP office to prepare for summer camps; packing camper bags, sorting keys, etc., ensuring everything runs smoothly while maintaining communication with Auburn faculty, staff, and other campus partners.
+ **Collaborate & Assist:** Work closely with the Client Camp Coordinator and Lead Staff to ensure that camp operations align seamlessly. Assist with check-in, check-out processes, distributing camp materials, and any logistical tasks required.
+ **Hands-On Participation:** Serve as an active participant in camp preparation. Be flexible and self-sufficient predicting tasks that need to be done.
+ **Auburn Spirit:** Welcome guests to campus and demonstrate the Auburn spirit, fostering a positive, engaging environment throughout the summer.
+ **Regulatory Compliance:** Ensure adherence to all AYP and Auburn University regulations regarding minors and safety.
+ **Training:** Attend counselor training prior to the start of the camps (tentatively scheduled for the week of May 11th).
+ **Additional Responsibilities:** Take on any other responsibilities as assigned, ensuring the camps operate smoothly.

**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Have attended Auburn University for at least one year
+ Enrolled and taking classes during the semester of employment; **or**
+ Not enrolled in classes for the semester of employment, but enrolled in the previous semester and enrolled for the following semester.
+ Be in good academic standing
