Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a TES Inpatient Vet Technician to work in the Intermediate Care (IMC), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Emergency Room (ER) section of our Bailey Small Animal Teaching Hospital. The individual in this position will work directly with board-certified emergency and critical care veterinarians and rotating intern doctors to help facilitate qualify care and patient flow through the IMC, ICU, and ER.
This position is primarily for overnights or second shift. The scheduled hours for this position can be flexible based on the selected candidate's availability with the potential option to work 8, 10, or 13 hour shifts based on preference. Preferred hours can be discussed during interview.

Essential Functions
* Assists with administering treatments and monitoring patients admitted in IMC, ICU, or ER observes and records vital data, abnormal signs, body weight, food/water intake of animals, and collects and labels specimens and perform treatments and administer medications as prescribed by primary veterinarian.
* Performs and demonstrates veterinary care techniques and procedures related to emergency and critical care medicine.
* Assists veterinarians in the care of patients requiring advanced procedures and life-saving techniques including CPR, mechanical ventilation and dialysis. Inspects facilities, equipment, and supplies daily, as well as observes health status of animals, environmental conditions, temperature, and sanitation.
* Perform job duties with speed and accuracy and work as essential personnel, providing care for patients after hours, on weekends and holidays.
* Assists with emergency triage and stabilization of patients presenting through the Emergency service.
* May be responsible for, or assist in, billing clients, inputting charges, and/or similar tasks.
* This position will work to provide care for patients after hours, on weekends, and holidays.

**Level I:**
+ Performs routine repairs and preventive maintenance to a variety of building heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR ) equipment including air handling units, chillers, heat pumps, exhaust fans, fan coil units, variable air volume boxes, motors, pumps, air distribution machinery, pneumatic and digital controls, hot and chilled water distribution and variable volume systems. Performs seasonal transitions of systems to and from heating and cooling.
+ Performs basic repairs of HVACR systems and equipment including air handling units, chillers, heat pumps, exhaust fans, fan coils units, variable air volume boxes, motors, pumps, air distribution machinery, pneumatic and digital controls, hot and chilled water distribution and variable volume systems.
+ Assists in major component replacement and systems repairs under the supervision of higher level technicians. Assists in executing HVACR system repair projects, such as the replacement of air handling units, chillers, or boilers as well as emergency repair efforts to repair such units.
