The sustainment of current and emerging IT support is a critical enabler to accomplish all USAFCOEFS missions. Duties: Provide daily on-site operational and sustainment support for installed classroom audiovisual equipment (hardware, software and ancillary and associated items of equipment to include networking and TEAMS video conferencing for Enterprise Classroom Program (ECP) classrooms. Possess the ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds as well as the ability to climb/work at heights of 20 feet. Maintain a daily log of performance tasks, customer requests, and known issues. Utilize the Army's Incident ticketing System, AESMP, to capture workload. Capture daily and weekly sustainment reporting requirements via the online ECP Repository. Coordinate with customers to determine audiovisual requirements, conduct site surveys at various locations on the installation to verify access to power outlets, furniture arrangements, and number of speakers required. Determine quantity and configuration position of equipment, pack, transport to and from work site, install, adjust, maintain and operate audiovisual equipment, supporting the Command's and authorized customers' events. Possess a SECRET clearance or able to obtain an INTERIM SECRET clearance. Possess an InfoComm International Certification in Audiovisual Technology that stays current through the duration of employment with no lapse. About this Position The Broadcast and Radio Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing engineering activities that support the technical operations of Langston University's broadcast and radio facilities. This position ensures all production and broadcast infrastructure remains fully operational and compliant with federal engineering standards. Due to the critical nature of broadcast continuity, this role requires maintaining "on-call" status for emergency response situations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Supervision & Scheduling: Supervise technical staff, organize and assign daily workloads, and prioritize tasks to ensure optimal technical support and project outcomes. * Compliance & Quality Control: Monitor and evaluate broadcast operations to ensure compliance with FCC and other federal standards. Review engineering logs, maintenance reports, and conduct equipment testing to maintain regulatory and performance standards. * Systems Planning & Compatibility: Collaborate with facility planners and IT teams to ensure integration of broadcast systems with current and future infrastructure. Evaluate system specs, coordinate with manufacturers and vendors for updates, and ensure equipment compatibility with evolving technologies. * Training: Plan, coordinate, and deliver training on video, audio, analog, and digital teleconferencing systems for staff and other users. * Installation & Maintenance: Install and assist in the setup of radio transmitters, broadcast cameras, video editing suites, audio systems, computer-based hardware, and teleconferencing systems. * Emergency Response: Provide emergency maintenance services for transmitters, microwave links, and other critical infrastructure. Establish priorities for restoration and keep the facility fully operational during disruptions. * Technical Evaluation & Budgeting: Evaluate and maintain technical standards for studio and remote equipment. Develop budgets for projects and ongoing maintenance. Monitor expenditures to stay within approved limits. * Communication & Coordination: Coordinate with stakeholders to determine needs and feasibility of proposed projects. Prepare budget estimates, RFPs, and technical data for licensing and renewal applications for transmitting facilities. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree * In Electronics Engineering, Broadcasting, or a related field and four (4) years of experience in broadcast equipment/system design, repair, and installation; OR * An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. * In-depth knowledge of broadcast engineering principles and applicable government regulations. * Proficiency with analog and digital communication systems. * Hands-on experience with design, installation, repair, and maintenance of technical broadcast systems. * Ability to troubleshoot under pressure and prioritize emergency repairs.
