We're seeking someone to join our team as an Associate to provide audit coverage for application and system infrastructure supporting Institutional Securities Group Technology Audit.
The Internal Audit Division (IAD) drives attention and resources to vulnerabilities by providing an independent and well-informed view and impactful messages about the most important risks facing our Firm. This is accomplished by performing a range of assurance activities to independently assess the quality and effectiveness of Morgan Stanley's system of internal control, including risk management and governance systems and processes. IAD serves as an objective and independent function within the Firm's risk management framework to foster continual improvement of risk management processes. This is an Associate level position within Technology Audit, which is responsible for inspecting controls in the applications that support all three lines of business.

Help identify risk and impact to relevant coverage area to prioritize areas of focus
Execute and lead aspects of assurance activities (e.g., audits, continuous monitoring, closure verification) to assess risk and formulate a view on the control environment
Facilitate conversations with stakeholders on risks, their impact and how well they are managed in a clear, timely and structured manner
Assist in managing multiple deliverables in line with team priorities

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $108,000 and $154,500 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
2+ years of internal or external auditing experience, or relevant business experience
Bachelor's degree (or related financial experience) in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
Understanding of internal control concepts with the ability to evaluate and determine the adequacy of control design and operating effectiveness
Ability to effectively and efficiently execute audit testing and complete audit workpaper documentation
Adaptive to changing business priorities and ability to multitask in a constantly changing environment
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

Key Responsibilities

Experience auditing areas such as KYC onboarding, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, AML investigations, regulatory reporting, and financial crime compliance.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills-able to challenge stakeholders and probe deep into control gaps.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook; experience with audit management systems a plus.
