What You'll Do On-Call Educators deliver engaging informal and interpretive programming to campers, families, students, and general visitors. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to program delivery, supervising children ages 4-17, assisting program coordinators/supervisors in the supervision of youth and adult volunteers, and assessing/coordinating supplies and physical space needed for programs. Opportunities for On-Call Educators include but are not limited to holiday camps, after hour events, overnights, and other family programs, with most shift opportunities during holiday weeks and/or select Friday and Saturday evenings. What You'll Do The Facilities Attendant position works outdoors in public parks managed by Audubon Nature Institute and supports a clean, maintained, and safe park experience. Routine job tasks Include picking up litter, emptying trash cans, addressing hazardous spills, cleaning restrooms, removing graffiti and stickers, leaf blowing walkways, and pressure washing hardscape. The Facilities Attendant will properly use, maintain, and secure equipment such as leaf blowers, pressure washers, and utility vehicles. The position works under the supervision of the Grounds Supervisor and may be assigned work alongside volunteers and Interns. The position will support the great needs of the Park Operations department and will support the general success of the parks as assigned Including proving customer service to all park guests, supporting engagement and education, ensuring the park Is clean and free of trash, and supporting event production and recovery. Day to Day Responsibilities Check all trash cans throughout the park and empty as necessary. Bring full trash bags to the dumpster for disposal. Pick up litter throughout the park including in the lawns, along the pathways, around amenities and in landscaped areas. Follow proper safety procedures when identifying and resolving hazards including bodily fluids and medical sharps. Clean restrooms including picking up trash and emptying trash cans, sweeping and mopping the floors, and cleaning the sinks, counters, and toilets. What You'll Do The Horticulturist position works outdoors In public parks managed by Audubon Nature Institute and Is responsible for the overall landscape maintenance of their assigned park area in the downtown riverfront parks. Routine job tasks include general landscape maintenance such as planting, weeding, and pruning. Horticulturalist will set and monitor their Irrigation systems and manually water as required. The position will diagnose and treat plant Issues Including diseases, pests, and nutrient needs. The Horticulturists will properly use, maintain, and secure equipment such as leaf blowers and string trimmers, vehicles, and hand tools such as pruners, shovels, and sprayers. The position works under the supervision of the Landscape Supervisor and may be assigned to oversee gardeners, volunteers, and Interns. The position will support the greater needs of the Park Operations department and will support the general success of the parks as assigned Including proving customer service to all park guests, supporting engagement and education, ensuring the park Is clean and free of trash, and supporting event production and recovery. Day to Day Responsibilities Physically perform general horticultural maintenance, including planting, weeding, watering, mulching, pruning, deadheading, leaf-blowing, and completing minor irrigation maintenance. Remove trash from in and around garden beds including any hazardous items. Identify and treat common plant issues. Maintain garden projects on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis with a critical eye on detail. Contribute to educational and research projects as need to aid in community knowledge of plant materials and landscape maintenance practices. Adhere to safe and proper use of tools, PPE, equipment, and chemicals. Assist in group activities and special projects as needed. This position works directly with Siamangs, Golden Lion Tamarins, White-Throated Capuchin, Mandrills, White-faced Saki Monkey and Southern Pudu. This position may cross train with other primate species within the department.
