Abner Copeland Abner Copeland came with his family from Virginia to Union township in the spring of 1836.
On October 8, 1857, nine years after the organization of Auglaize County and four years before the start of the Civil War, the County Commissioners purchased 200 acres in Duchouquet Township for $3,800 from William Ross and John Fisher.
