Responsibilities
* Perform mechanical design of novel aircraft, small UAS and supporting systems.
* Conduct rapid prototype development, manufacturing, and integration.
* Perform developmental and qualification testing, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
* Collaborate with other engineering disciplines in planning, development, and test of systems to ensure software and hardware performance and compatibility.
* This position is based at Aurora's Manassas, VA location and is 100% on-site.
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other relevant 4-year engineering degree from an accredited university.
* Minimum typically of five years of experience in aircraft or small UAS development.
* Proficiency in mechanical design for aerospace applications.
* Proficiency with CAD tools including SolidWorks, CATIA V5 and/or 3DX.
* Able to travel for up to 2 weeks at a time approximately 4 times per year.
* Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred Requirements
* Proficiency with test and data analysis tools such as LabView, MATLAB, Excel, and Python.
* Knowledgeable in all aspects of the aircraft and small UAS development life cycle from initial design concepts to manufacturing, integration, and test.

* Holds current FAA Part 107 Certificate.

This position reports to the Manager EHS Engineering 3. The incumbent will serve as a member of the environmental remediation team with direct responsibility for the success of the company's remediation projects across various sites in the U.S. The incumbent will oversee multiple investigation and remediation projects involved in state, provincial, and federal clean-up programs and provide environmental expertise to minimize environmental liabilities for the company.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Develops, implements, and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub- assemblies, and final assemblies.
+ Conducts tests throughout all stages of production to determine control over applicable variables and troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing problems of moderate scope and complexity.
+ Designs the sequence of production operations, specifying procedures for the fabrication of applicable tools and equipment, and adapting machinery.
+ Collaborates with product design engineering on technical specifications that will best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
+ Estimates manufacturing costs and determines time standards.
+ Ensures that production processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
