Aurora University company history timeline

1911

In 1911, residents of the nearby town of Aurora raised funds to construct a new college, led by funding from businessman Charles Eckhart, who founded the predecessor company to the Auburn Automobile Company.

1912

In 1912, the school moved to Aurora, a larger town with a record of impressive economic development that promised the college greater opportunities.

Mendota College was established initially as a seminary to prepare graduates for ministry, but it soon adopted a broader mission, moving in 1912 to a new campus in the nearby community of Aurora.

1992

In 1992, Aurora University and George Williams affiliated.

2009

Aurora University added a third location in 2009 with the opening of the Woodstock Center, which offers part-time MBA, Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and graduate programs in education.
