Co-op assignments are structured to provide candidates with opportunities to grow and develop in their chosen discipline as well as educate them on various career paths within the organization. This is a full-time paid co-op position within our Manufacturing Applications, Reporting, and Analytics team for a duration of 7-8 months. The co-op will interact with the other members of the applications team as well as business users to design, develop, configure, enhance, and support both new and existing applications and reporting systems. Qualifications Key Accountabilities: * Provide safety expertise to support mill operations * Work on projects that improve equipment reliability, maintain the mill's infrastructure, and reduce overall costs * Assist with machine shutdowns and start-ups * Monitor, assess, analyze, and optimize process equipment * Monitor, assess, and analyze equipment variability * Reduce environmental impact * Provide technical support for key departments * Utilize problem solving and analytical skills to achieve department initiatives Personal qualities Required Experience and Education: * Engineering curriculum with an interest in the Pulp, Paper and Packaging Industry * Minimum 2.75 GPA * Must have completed three semesters of college education prior to Co-op start date * Must be available to work one of two Co-op rotations which run either January through August or May through December. Required skills: * Must possess strong communication and teamwork skills, with a desire to learn in a work environment that is modeled after a full-time engineering experience * Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States for other than practical training (Student work VISA does not qualify).
