Position Summary Responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnosis, repairs, reconditioning and overhaul of heavy diesel equipment. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Employment Type: Full Time Principle Responsibilities/Accountabilities Performs general and detailed repair of all heavy equipment, engines and components. Diagnoses and troubleshoots machine and engine malfunctions and failures. Keeps knowledge up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systems. Uses safe working practices and follows all company safety requirements. Maintains a clean and organized work area. Performs maintenance activities on new and rebuilt/repaired equipment. Makes recommendations as to repairs meeting warranty criteria. Make parts replacement decisions assuring optimum economic reusability. Performs duties as assigned. Runs diagnostics using computer. Respects coworkers. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of the methods and procedures used in servicing and repairing gasoline and diesel engines. Knowledge of vehicle and equipment mechanics, including combustion engines and hydraulic and electrical systems and air brakes. Knowledge of safety standards for motor vehicles and equipment. Knowledge of State vehicle inspection standards. Basic Welding ability. Ability to keep company proprietary information confidential. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Basic computer skills.
