The City of Independence is seeking a Civil Engineering Technician to work under the general direction of the City Engineer to perform basic engineering and technical administrative support functions. Work includes the administration of the permit process, GIS data entry, development of engineering plan sets utilizing AutoCAD and other software, reviewing and documenting project conditions and plans, performing inspections, managing contractors, and providing customer service. Duties and Responsibilities: Assists in inspection of public infrastructure [sidewalks and aprons and utility construction] in the public right-of-way.
