Overview Joby Aviation's Flight Research team is looking for an experienced remote pilot to operate research and development UAS platforms. Drawing on past experience operating medium to large UAS, the role will fulfill pilot command duties in support of flight test operations in the National Airspace System. Joining a small, fast moving team this position will support additional responsibilities and tasks such as hands on work with the aircraft and ground support equipment, upholding standard operating procedures, and support pre and post test activities with engineers. Responsibilities * Act as the remote pilot in command for various R&D aircraft platforms * Conduct preflight planning and inspections of the system * Support test planning and take part in test rehearsals * Post flight reports, internal and external * Collaborate with other crewmembers in preparation, execution, and post test activities * Provide detailed feedback and recommendations for system improvements * Uphold standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements * Uphold a strong safety culture Required * Part 61 Private Pilot certificate with Instrument rating * Part 107 Remote Pilot certificate * Experience operating Group 3 + UAS * Experience with manual (non-GPS) and/or augmented flight modes using a traditional RC controller interface for conventional takeoff and landing aircraft * Fully automated remote flight * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and training * At least 3 years of relevant experience * Significant UAS experience. About the Role: We are looking for a Commercial Drone Pilot (1099) to join our Telecom vertical. In this role, you'll receive a Statement of Work (SOW) with assets to be collected. We'll train you on the required shot list required for each Statement of Work. Responsibilities: Operate drone to conduct inspections of transmission and distribution utility assets Ensure safe and efficient data collection as well as successful upload of all collected data Follow Zeitview's standardized workflows and defined safety practices Maintain an unwavering commitment to professionalism while representing Zeitview in the field Required Qualifications: FAA Part 107 Commercial Drone Certificate Valid driver's license 1099 career mindset - you understand you'll be paying for your own travel for missions An operational personal vehicle that meets basic professional standards or be willing to provide an adequate rental Able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check A willingness to learn and be a productive member of a safety conscious, professional team environment is essential Safety conscious mindset Able to lift 50 pounds Minimum Equipment Requirements: You must have your own equipment to use for this role. While we have projects all over the US, the majority of the work is located on the East Coast (specifically within the Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington DC areas) as well as within Montana, Wyoming, and Texas. In this role, you'll receive a Statement of Work (SOW) with assets to be collected. We'll train you on the required shot list required for each Statement of Work. There are approximately 5 specified shots for each designated distribution pole all above conductor height. This is a 1099 role where you are paid per pole that is inspected.
