What a typical day looks like:
Responsible for implementing solutions on critical items to propose to the customers and to keep in good health the failure inventories of the Repair, RMA and Manufacturing process.
Interfaces and confers with engineering and technical personnel to resolve testing problems such as product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data, data interpretation or coding issues.
Analyzes and interprets test data and prepares technical reports for use by electronic or software engineering.
Perform PCBA and System level fault isolation/failure analysis down to component level.
Uses computer software and hardware to conduct tests on electronic products and systems.
Trains and instructs floor support, test technicians and test operators on test hardware and/or software, as well as proper problem-solving techniques.
Resolves test yield problems by performing analysis of root causes, developing and coordinating corrective action measures and monitoring improvements.
Create and maintain process documentation.
Actively search for new technologies or procedures in the test sector.
Determines conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations

Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronic engineering (ideal/optional) - or - equivalent work experience (see below).
2+ years of industry work experience in SMT test engineering from electronic device manufacturing company/industry or related.

Role Overview
The EMI/EMC/TEMPEST Engineer will participate in the testing of high assurance products required to comply with military and commercial specifications, including NSA TEMPEST specifications and other TEMPEST directives. EMI/EMC/TEMPEST experience and testing expertise will be used to perform engineering and formal testing, as well as execute production TEMPEST testing audits on a sample of the production volume.

**The Role**
The Automation Resident Engineer is responsible for leading and supporting the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of advanced automation systems across GM manufacturing operations. **Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)**
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer, or related) or equivalent experience.

Master's degree in engineering or computer science with extensive experience in Ada, C/C++ for embedded software design, development, and testing.
Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Perl, Tcl, etc.) and code management tools (Git, CVS, SVN, Perforce, etc.)
Experience with RTOS (Linux, FreeRTOS, QNX, VxWorks, etc.) and device drivers for complex systems using parallel processing, multi-threading, distributed processing, multi-core, SoM, and/or secure processing.

Experience with bare metal software design and optimization for cycles and memory and fundamental facility with compilers, build and source code control tools.
Experience with model based engineering on Cameo.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledgeable of system interfaces (e.g. Ethernet, Mil-Std-1553, Serial).
Knowledgeable of component interfaces (e.g. I2C, SPI, PCIe).
The base pay range for this position is $90,800.00 - $121,000.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on 03/31/26.
