Nondestructive Test Engineer to work in the Non-Destructive Testing Group at our Tewksbury, MA facility. M&PE's charter is to leverage material and process expertise throughout Raytheon Missiles and Defense and Raytheon Company. This position requires an individual who possesses a thorough background and knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing to include: Radiographic Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, and Penetrant testing. A broad background in NDT of Castings, electronics, welding/brazing, composites, etc. is needed. The ability to certify to NAS 410 is required. The selected candidate will be expected to perform various non-destructive testing tasks to support production operations, developmental design, and failure analysis as well as auditing suppliers for compliance. Some of the tasks will include the onsite operation of inspection systems and offsite auditing of suppliers for compliance. Collaboration with engineers is required to develop unique test plans, proper sequencing, and validate inspection techniques and setups. The selected candidate must be able to manage a wide variety of tasks within schedule and budget requirements. Analysis and interpretation of results will be communicated with engineering customers and documented on engineering reports. The candidate will become part of a multi-disciplined team that is responsible for solving a wide range of technical problems. Travel of up to 50% to both domestic and international locations. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 12+ years of experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience Experience in NAS 410 Level 2 or 3 Certification (or equivalent) in multiple methods to include: Ultrasonic, Radiography, Magnetic Particle and Fluorescent Penetrant Testing Methods. Experience in using multiple Non Destructive Test Methods to include: Digital Radiography, Film Radiography, Ultrasonic Testing (Contact/Immersion/CSAM) Techniques.
