Valet Park of America automotive detailer job description
We are hiring an entry-level technician to wash, wax, detail, and perform minor repairs on a wide range of vehicles in our fleet.
In addition, this person will provide light carpentry and basic maintenance roles at our Springfield, MA headquarters and other locations.
We operate a fleet of 100 vehicles. Mostly Ford products, late model shuttles (mostly cutaway 14-25 passenger vans), as well as 10 other company cars (Focus, Fusion, etc). There will be no shortage of work, a great position for someone who likes to stay busy!
This position will be a full-time permanent position, in our Springfield, MA facility. This is a new position.
The ideal applicant must be mechanically inclined and have a desire to learn. We will train the right person.
The basic hours will be Monday-Friday first shift. Overtime may be available occasionally for weekends, etc.
The position is located in our Springfield, MA headquarters, but some travel to other locations we operate may be required (day trips).
Base pay of $18-$20/hour based on experience and skill set.
Skills
Cleans and refurbishes new and used automobiles, performing any combination of the following duties: Washes vehicle exterior to clean cars, using cleaning solution, water, cloths, and brushes. Applies wax to auto body, and wipes or buffs surfaces to protect surfaces and preserve shine, using a cloth or buffing machine. Vacuum interiors of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris, using a vacuum cleaner. Cleans upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces, using cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices. Applies revitalizers and preservatives to vinyl or leather surfaces, and treats fabrics with spot and stain-resistant chemicals to preserve and protect interior components. Applies special-purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which do not respond to normal cleaning procedures, utilizing experience and following recommendations of the product manufacturer. Must be able to understand formulas in order to mix cleaning solutions, paints, and other chemicals. The ability to operate cleaning equipment is essential must know how to efficiently operate hand tools or power tools and follow the safety policies. Maintain an organized working area. Be organized and able to follow schedules and management directions.
