· Advising and sales of automotive products and services; such as tires, suspension, wheel alignment, brakes, engine and other mechanical services.

· Able to lead the shop and ensure top notch service and customer care.

· Computer skills are a must -- including tablets and scanners.

· An organizational mastermind (maintain an organized neat and safe shop), knowledge of the automotive industry along with a love of what you do.

· Open to learning -- every minute of every day. Must be willing to share and be open to new ideas. This individual must focus on high personal productivity and the development of current and new business opportunities.

· You've got to genuinely enjoy helping people!

• 5+ experience managing a shop.
• You will also need strong leadership skills and a customer-focused attitude to go along with a high level of motivation and energy.
• Service Manager ASE certification is a plus!

Initiates automotive services and repairs by ascertaining performance problems and services requested; verifying warranty and service contract coverage; developing estimates; writing repair orders; maintaining customer rapport and records.

Ascertains automotive problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules.

Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions.

Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor; calculating customer's payment, including deductibles.

Prepares repair orders (RD) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system.

Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer's approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation.
Maintains automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications. Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Summary: Our Automotive Service Advisor/ Service Writer greets customers and consults with them on their vehicle service needs.

Automotive Service Advisor / Service Writer Responsibilities:- Provide customer service to include vehicle service care and manufacturer's warranty specifications- Schedule and manage service appointments and service estimates- Address and resolve customer complaints

Automotive Service Advisor / Service Writer Qualifications:- Prior experience in automotive service writing, preferred- Working knowledge of basic car functions, characteristics, and operations- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals

- Valid driver's license with 2 or fewer moving violations last 3 years- Basic MS Office knowledge; computer software, internet proficiency, and general mathematic skills
