The incumbent may be responsible for conducting trainings with other University staff and students with mechanized vehicles and equipment. Interactions/contacts occur daily with the campus community in the course of performing work and responding to emergencies. This position works as a member of a team while frequently performing tasks independently. Decisions may be made about the best method and materials necessary to perform a particular task. They may also include setting priorities, assessing customer needs and responding to those needs. Work is reviewed regularly by the Associate Director of Environmental Services to ensure it is performed efficiently, safely, and meets both expectations and applicable requirements. A performance appraisal is conducted annually. Driver's Certification: It is an essential requirement of this position to qualify for and maintain UO driver's certification eligibility, which includes maintaining an Oregon driver's license throughout employment in this position. At least 3 years professional experience in a dealership setting as a technician-Required. Comprehensive Knowledge of Volkswagen Vehicles: Deep understanding of Volkswagen's models, systems, and technologies, including both current and previous generations of cars. This should include engine types, electrical systems, drivetrain components, diagnostics, and infotainment systems. ASE certifications Desire to improve constantly and be a true team player. Customer-focused and results oriented. Comfortable with technology and learning new software. Familiar with MyKaarma ,CDK, and proficiency with software management systems is preferred but not required as long as you are willing to learn.
