The Scrap Technician also ensures timely delivery of compliant scraps to support melt shop safety, protects furnace operations, and enhances throughput, chemistry control, and yield. Incoming scrap is segregated according to chemistry, size, density, and cost to optimize melt shop performance. The Scrap Technician will audit scrap piles to confirm accurate weights, density, yield, size, and chemistry classifications. Additionally, the Scrap Technician supports the scrap loading and cutting teams, as well as logistics activities related to scrap deliveries, including internal material movement, Perry Scales operations, and rail coordination.
