Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Auburn, AL, for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. The Mechanic will be responsible for repairing our fleet of machines as well as preventative maintenance of our fleet. Day-to-day tasks include fluid analysis, fluid changes, routine greasing, aesthetics of our fleet, proper diagnosis of our fleet and OEM maintenance. Additionally, the role will involve effective communication with team members and stakeholders to ensure timely diagnosis and repairs are met efficiently.

Expertise in Computer systems and diagnosis
Strong Communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders or manufacturers reps
Attention to detail and the ability to analyze machine blueprints and specifications

SUMMARY: Performs skilled work in the operation and maintenance of the Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Treatment Facility. Prepares the CSO facility for rain events and cleans up after rain events. Monitors the CSO treatment facility and process using SCADA system. Collects operational data for the CSO Facilities and assists in preparing reports. Inspects troubleshoots, and repairs pumps, motors, valves, piping systems, backflow, preventers, HVAC systems, air compressors, grit collection, chemical feel equipment, odor control systems, bar screens, vortex units, and other equipment related to combined sewer overflow treatment. Performs preventative and corrective maintenance activities using LAWSON work order system. The 40-hour workweek schedule varies, depending upon the occurrence of rain events. The operator will be expected to work at night, on weekends, and on holidays when there is a rain event. All CSO O&M Technicians are on call 24/7. This also includes positions within the career ladder: CSO O&M Technician Apprentice (grade 08), CSO O&M Technician I (grade 10), and CSO O&M Technician Il (grade 11), CSO O&M Technician III (grade 12)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
Performs skilled work in the operation of the CSO as scheduled by the Superintendent.
Responds to rain events on an on-call and as-needed basis. Prepares the CSO facility for rain events and cleans up after them. Keeps the work area neat and clean.
Operates chemical feed systems for compliance with state and federal regulations. Collects operational data for the CSO Facilities and assists in preparing reports.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
