POSITION SUMMARY: An Automotive Technician, often called Service Tech, will maintain, inspect, and repair vehicles within the service bay. Provides accurate information to the service manager and service advisors, concerning vehicles that are processed through the company for business purposes. Have knowledge of calendar, hourly, and progressive inspection procedures. Troubleshoot and perform needed repairs to airframe components, engines, and a variety of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic repairs to other aircraft accessories such as starter/generators, fuel pumps, hydraulic pumps, actuators, wheels, tires, and brakes. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and report findings of discrepancies to appropriate personnel. Consult and get a plan of action approved before spending more than thirty minutes troubleshooting a problem. Seek out discrepancies on the aircraft and report them to the DOM or his designee. Write maintenance forms (squawks) on all discrepancies found.
