Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Diagnoses vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience. Must be deemed an eligible driver through an MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) screening. High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical School experience preferred Working Conditions and Physical Demands: The Senior Automotive Technician will be exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The temperature in the work environment varies and could include extreme heat and/or extreme cold depending on the ambient temperatures outside. The use of safety goggles or other PPE may be required when working in these conditions. The Senior Automotive Technician must be able to meet the following physical requirements: Stand up to eight hours per day in the shop and able to walk to gain access to various areas of the building Bend, stoop, kneel and crouch regularly throughout the day; must have full range of motion with arms and hands and be able to feel, handle or finger objects frequently Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, lift and/or move up to 70 pounds frequently. WHAT YOU'LL NEED 2+ years of hands-on experience as an R&R technician or a similar role Successful completion of 2+ transmission removals and replacements in the past 2 months Ability to remove/replace a transmission in book time or less Ability to provide and use basic tools Ability to work in a collaborative team environment Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills Physical ability to lift heavy parts and keep up with a fast-paced environment Valid driver's license and the ability to operate FWD, RWD, AWD, and 4x4 vehicles WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Our Automotive Transmission Technician works closely with the service team to complete accurate removals and replacements for automatic and manual transmissions in an efficient, timely manner. To succeed, you'll need to be able to use diagnostic tools, assist with hands-on troubleshooting, and correctly work with drivetrain components (CV axles, mounts, drivelines, and transfer cases). You'll be responsible for test-driving all types of vehicles for diagnostics, completing external inspections, and performing general transmission services like pan drops and filter/fluid changes. No matter what you're doing, you'll make sure to give every job your best effort. Services, repairs, and overhauls aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure airworthiness by performing the following duties. No supervisory duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcases, cleaning screens, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes. Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units. Read and interpret manufacturers' and airlines' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Examine engines for cracked cylinders and oil leaks, and listens to the operating engine to detect and diagnose malfunctions, such as sticking or burned valves. Inspect turbine blades to detect cracks or breaks. Test engine operation to locate the source of malfunction. Replace or repair worn or damaged components such as carburetors, alternators, and magnetos. Remove the engine from the aircraft and disassemble and inspect parts for wear, warping, or other defects.
